Theme update: LCPDFR Light & Dark

Featured Replies

As you will all have noticed, we've just rolled out a new website design with two theme sets for you to choose between: LCPDFR Light and LCPDFR Dark, both of which have the same basic template design, but feature entirely different colour schemes.

If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions about the new themes or if you have discovered a bug, please drop us a reply here and let us know what you think. The new themes, unlike our previous designs, have been created in-house and are both heavily modified versions of the default IP.Board 3.2.x theme. The basic idea behind both of the new themes is that they should present content clearly and be simple to navigate, as well as quick to load. I think that we've achieved this with both of these new designs, but as always, it would be good to know what you guys think of them.

Seems that Testing Team members (perhaps other teams as well, not sure) can only choose between Light and Clear for themes, and both themes are the same white theme.

Fixed. You should now only be able to choose between LCPDFR Light and LCPDFR Dark.

That fixed the icon not appearing thanks..

The light theme seems way to bright for me

After changing to the light theme, I cant change back to the dark theme.. (Dark is unselectable)

LCPDFR Dark was working fine until I just checked in this time. Now, when I click on the Forums button, everything seems to be offset by 3-4 inches to the left, effectively cutting off all of the different forum categories. Will continue to test.

**EDIT: Interesting, it is no longer doing it. The pages are normal now.

Thanks :) I was able to switch back to dark theme

Clicking on your name in the top right no longer opens a mini control panel where you can access settings, just directs you to your profile (perhaps this was intended?) Only happens on Dark.

FIXED

Oops... Meant to edit not re post...

Here are some of my thoughts about the Light skin:

  • Way too much white. I think that there should be more contrast between the different parts of the site.
  • It might be a good idea (if possible) to make the stark white parts a bit darker, maybe to a silver/light gray.
  • Maybe use stark white as a border between different parts of the site? Or a light gray border around some white parts. Trying to visualize how that would look...

If I think of anything more, I'll be sure to post.

As for the Dark skin, I think that's pretty good as it is right now. Although I am wondering what it would look like with a gray border around different sections of the page. I think it would just look a little more...mm...'complex' if all of that solid color was broken up just a tad. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Im not sure if this is part of the theme...

But my member title says "Where's my damn payrise?" Shouldnt it be payraise?

Appologies if this isnt part of the theme system

The "LCPD Light" theme seems to overlap embeded youtube videos.

For instance, I can see the video, but I can also see the background picture at about 70% transparency.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

That is because of the opacity:

#content {

	background: none repeat scroll 0 0 white;

	box-shadow: 0 0 5px 5px #888888;

	opacity: 0.9; <<------

}

opacity carrys over to all sub elements causing images and embeds to have opacity. If the object/embed media code for youtube videos gets replaced with the iframe version that should work, I don't think opacity affects iframes.

Edit: Found out what is blocking the white theme's "LCPDFR Dark" button, the div footer_utilities is in the way, it needs a negative z-index.
