it needs to stay banned no one should have it period

  • I think it should be legal, but have the same restrictions as alcohol/Tobacco. I have never smoked weed and never will, but I don't see any point in keeping something illegal that has no health effect

It should be legal to a point, Such as Medical, IN HOME USE ONLY, An ounce or so legal limit to be carried on person/in vehicle, Must be 18 or 21 to possess. I have nothing against it. =)

I think it should be legal, but have the same restrictions as alcohol/Tobacco. I have never smoked weed and never will, but I don't see any point in keeping something illegal that has no health effects, well it has heath effects but good ones.

Here is how i think it should be set it: No smoking in public, no buildings beside your house not even in bars or anything the only place it can be smoked is inside your house. Then have the same restrictions as alcohol.

If not legal fully, then it should be used as medical because this "drug" has helped people through so many different things, I use to be completely against it until I read the story about the 4 year old who had about 300 seizure a day. Then a doctor put the 4 year old on medical marijuana and she hasn't had a single seizure since.

Probably around 99% of people don't know this, but the only reason it was made illegal was because it was being used as paper way back then and the big company's didn't like that (back then big corporations had more power then the government its self, i'm talking about early America here) so the big corporations made the government make it illegal, and its been the same ever since.

Ohhh did you know the US constitutions is printed on hemp? (weed)

Awesome answer :)

This is strictly my opinion, but I grew up around it. I've never smoked it myself but I've had a front row seat to watch the effects of it. Alot of people say that it doesn't have any effects on the health of a person. That may be true but it's not the weed that'll kill you, it's the other drugs that you get involved with because of weed that'll kill you. Anyone can say that they're just going to smoke that one blunt every now and then, but what happens when the high isn't as good as it was the last time. That's what pulls people into the harder drugs. Alot of people are going to disagree with everything I said but I've witnessed this first hand and was just smart enough to stay away from it.

if America was to make it legal and tax it properly it would probably bring in a lot of money and help a economy that sucks at the moment.. if they were to make it like how Alcohol is sold or Cigarettes I think it would be a good thing.. possibly..

as to it being a gateway drug I cant count how many people I know who smoke regularly and I know for a fact they don't do anything except Weed so personally I think the whole it being a gateway drug thing is just an excuse people who don't like marijuana use as a reason to keep it illegal that's just me though..

It's easy to say it's not a gateway drug when you haven't seen the true effects. Most people don't realize how harmful it truly is until it's too late. I'm not saying that everyone who smokes it will end up in the ally doing crack, all I'm saying is that it's hard to realize the effect most of the time. And when the effects finally surface it's a real wake-up call.

the only effect I see from people who smoke marijuana (I know someone who has been smoking just about everyday since the early 2000's) is that they get extremely lazy after awhile.. that's just about it though.. im just curious though what effects are you talking about?

I personally have no interest in trying it. However, that doesn't mean it should be illegal. There's a LOT of stuff I'm not interested in that shouldn't be illegal - for example, no one would suggest banning synchronized swimming.

I've had family that started out smoking weed, they quickly became slower, lazier, less alert, and disoriented. After a while the high wasn't the same for them. They chased the high through harder and harder drugs. Now they're constantly in and out of jail and blowing every dollar they have trying to get their fix. They're no where near the person they used to be, and it all started with weed.

Marijuana can cause hallucinations and can also impair your coordination. This is sort of like alcohol. I do not think it should be legalized because people will smoke it on the road and potentially cause fatal car accidents.

Okay buddy, so why is it alcohol is legal then? If it is "sort of like alcohol". Do you have the same stance on alcohol or what?

Do people forget that Alcohol is a "drug" as well. It has one purpose*, get people on a "High"/feel good.

My stance on Cannabis:

Why not? If you are gonna let people become drunks and die with Alcohol, may as well let those silly fools do it with Cannabis as well.

*Besides it being in some medical things.
