And I don't believe free speech should be banned. I just believe it should be limited to face to face interactions and criticism for the government shouldn't be allowed. See the difference?

What? Saying the name of the company makes it scarier? Sig Sauer primarily makes 9mm handguns, and one of their best sellers is a Sig 238 (.380 caliber, smaller than a 9mm).

You really have no right to say what is "enough" for some one's self defense, as you are not that person. For all you know, I could live out in the country where bears are a big problem. Am I supposed to rely on a 9mm handgun or a .22 rifle? No, I'll take a .308 or a bigger round, or preferably 12 gauge, any day. Furthermore, those people out in the country may have someone coming at them from a longer distance. A 9mm handgun is not effective for self defense past close range. As one local cop said it to me, a handgun is there to fight your way back to the gun you should have brought. An AR-15 is a perfect self defense weapon for around the home because it is easier to use, more accurate and has less wall penetration than most handgun rounds.

Next, different people shoot better with different guns. I personally like double action handguns like CZ's. Other people like glocks. Others like 1911 styled guns. You limit them to a gun/caliber they are uncomfortable with, I guarantee they will shoot worse.

Also, you have no idea on modern ballistics. With the way bullets are made now, quality ammo has the same effects from a .45, .40 or a 9mm. Furthermore, the thing that makes .22 an incredibly deadly round, despite its size, is that it ricochets around inside a body upon impact, piercing multiple organs, while standard ammo will punch through or fracture (I know a cop who's had a majority of fatal shootings he's dealt with come from smaller caliber handguns, with a lot of fatal .22 wounds).

What I got from what you are saying, to paraphrase, is that "guns don't save people," from your quote of "What gun saves you then."

And to be honest, what your parents think doesn't have any relevance to anything unless they are directly involved. In this thread, it is about your opinions, not your parents'.

Ok then, have a good night, thank you for educating me

  • I doubt that this is the case, but I wonder if it was almost motivated by the shooting in Nevada. The kid may have seen the news coverage and thought he could do the same thing.

  • Ironic eh? only reason this got news coverage at all is because a student killed a teacher.. again.. don't forget about all the gangbangers that gangbang 24/7, 7 days a week 365 a year, don't hear abo

and its also ironic that obama is the most anti gun "president" we had to date and all of these shootings happened under his term...theres more to these stories that meet the eye

Why is it always about President when it come to guns post the part where he say take the guns from the law abiding citizens, but this is not about him.

I think just maybe they might have had something going on i worked at a school i seen order women taking alike to younger male students not saying that they did anything

slimory if you don't like guns so much why don't you just go to all the gun owners houses one by one and disarm them then tough guy? im sure it wouldn't be a problem for you with your kung foo and all...we have legal ar 15s here and other powerful guns for a reason it is to keep the government in check and also to deter any country from trying to invade us for those that live in a box yes that could be a possibility

Another tragic death this week as another teacher is killed, and no motive has been found yet. Posting a source below.

Without revealing too much, I'll say the following: The murder scene is very close to where I live. That school has had over 120 cameras recently installed. The murder was supposedly conducted with a box cutter at close ranger, her body was dumped in a recycle bin and wheeled off some place to be hidden. This is all on camera. He then went to a movie theater that's built into the local Liberty Tree Mall, and then across Endicott Street to eat at Wendy's. He then was caught by police walking around Route 1 in the dark after a concerned citizen called. Route 1 is very dangerous due to there being no sidewalks, a place where people constantly speed and is not well lit. The area where he was on Route 1 was also very close to the local State Trooper barracks. I know some folks who work at the Danvers police department, and I was visiting the station that night. I inadvertently bumped into his family during the night of the murder, at the Danvers Police station some time around 7:30pm after the news had been broken to them. I left the station at 8:30 and they were still there. Another woman not related was talking to the reception police officer and mentioned something about "sitting in the cafeteria". We didn't speak, and I didn't realize who they were until the following morning when a co-worker told me what had happened the previous evening. The family is a military family who's moved all over the country due to the father's job with our armed forces. The kid is supposed to be from Tennessee, and has only lived here for two weeks. This murder has rocked the town of Danvers and all towns nearby, including my own.
