Can't start GTA IV

Featured Replies

(English isn't my native language)

Hey guys. I have no idea how to start GTA IV after i have download LCPDFR (.91).

I am pressing on the Grand Theft Auto IV shortcut then i see Social Club window as usual. But after I pressed a Play button GTA didn't started. If I open a task manager I can notice that the GTAIV.exe process appears just for few seconds and then disappears.

I've tried to turn off firewall, checked all .dll's and .asi files. Diagnostic report says everything is OK. I am not using a crack.

I think that is all i can say you. I need your help ;)

I hope you can understand me despite my poor English skills.

~Best wishes. Your foreign friend.

"Not specifically an LCPDFR problem, LCPDFR isn't loaded at this early stage of the game."

Yes, but before i downloaded LCPDFR there were no problems with GTA launching :)

"What version of GTA IV?"

As far as i know, i have 1.0.6.1

Now i should upgrade it to 1.0.7.0. Am i right?

Thank you. I'm downloading 1.0.7.0. But Isn't 1.0.7.0 (English) same as 1.0.6.1 (Russian)?

"Yes, you should have mentioned the region version."

Oh, sorry.

"Try running the diagnostics tool. http://goo.gl/QEftp"

Already tried this one. Diagnostic report says everything is OK.

You could try updateing all your dll's and stuff. Maybe something is outdated.

So be sure to download the latest versions of:

- Scripthook.dll

- ScriptHookDotNet.asi

- AdvancedHook.dll

- xlive.dll

You only need those 4 files in your GTA main directory to get it work (besides the original data of course ;) ) Also be sure to give us any further details on errors or something (just because I read something above "ME GOT ERRORRZZ" and then not posting it *lol*)

My problem was similar, only I was the dumbass who created such a problem in the first place lol.

I didn't check when copying/deleting my mod files prior to installing this mod over the top of GTA IV if I was accidently deleting required files.

Required file for GTA IV to work: xlive.dll.

And of course by placing it back into its rightful place (Main GTA IV Directory) the case was solved :)

DEVELOPER, all these files are already in GTA main directory. Actually I don't know how to update these files. I just downloaded them with lcpdfr .91

xDodox, I tried to update Games for Windows Live. Unfortunately when I am pressing ALT+P in game nothing happened as before updating.

Introvist, xlive.dll is already in GTA directory ;(

Does anyone have some conjectures?
