My strobes :D

Featured Replies

I posted a video before of my car with some really cheap and poorly wired headlight strobes, I was fortunate enough to find the guy that does the decaling as well as the lighting for the RCMP out here, he installed some taillight strobes as well as headlight corner strobes,

3 CS240 Power Supplies mounted in the car 1 in the trunk, and 2 on either sides of inside the hood.

4 Strobe bulbs

10 different patterns

1 switch to turn them on mounted beside my steering wheel

1 switch to change the patterns mounted right beside the on switch

and is going to install a master kill switch next weekend so when it goes for repairs, mechanics aren't playing with them.

He is also going to install some reverse light strobes when I get a chance to get some.

Here is a small video of the strobes (my favorite pattern):

I think they are nice. There isn't much point, but if the guy wants strobes, he can have strobes :)

You're putting lights on a retired copcar? No offense, but why?

I like lights, along with pretty much everyone on this site.. the fact you HAD to put retired cop car, makes it sound like it's a horrible thing..

.... whats the point?

I like lights..

You're right, there isn't ANY point whatsoever, I just like lights.

impersonating a cop is illegal last I checked its one thing to put spotlights on a car or truck because they are actually very handy but strobes? they are pointless unless you are trying to get attention...maybe for a car show thatd be ok but a personal vehicle? not cool

first of all, strobe lights are NOT illegal, they are if you drive with them on, which the car is clearly parked. and there is nothing here saying i'm impersonating a cop.. I could have put them in a Honda Civic.. which my buddy has, along with my other buddy who has them installed in his elantra.. again.. not illegal and it's the same thing.. you're just butt hurt cause it just happened to be a crown vic.. know your facts about the light laws before you comment. there is no point to having them whatsoever, I like lights that's it, that's all, nothing more, nothing less.

So mr.wannabe... When will be your first pullover?

Can't pull people over without red/blue or blue/blue lights red/white lights aren't even for pulling people over, thanks for showing you're lack of knowledge.. you would have to be pretty "SMRT S.M.R.T" to pull over for white strobe lights..

CrustyNL, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

It is legal to put lights on a vehicle, but it depends on the state. You just can't turn them on while on a public road or area.

Would I put lights on my car? No. But just because someone else does, you shouldn't be rude to them.

I don't have a criminal record, and I plan to keep it that way, laws in Nova Scotia Canada as Original Light stated, it varies from place to place, I CAN drive around with Amber strobes but that just looks silly driving around with them on anyway, white strobes, I cannot, the car has to be parked while they are on, everybody has their preference, some would rather not have lights in their vehicle, I for one, am the opposite.

Next time, don't be so rude.

Oh yea he does indeed, i'm sure of that hahaha. But i've had some experiences with people who wanted to act like they are from the law. Reading this gave me a bad taste, thinking that this guy also wants to be a cop but he can't. I do not want to personally attack Slimory btw.

A lighting establishment here in Nova Scotia, can sell you ANY colour light that you wish to purchase, including Red/Blue, it's how YOU (the owner) chooses how to use them, some people get kicks out of those red/blue light apps on the iphone, putting it in the dash and pulling people over, which ruins it for everyone.

Jesus...I mean Hey zues. You guys are freaken insane. So what if he was freaken strobes on a Ford Crown Vic? Just cause it's a retired cop car with strobes doesn't mean it's not cool. I think it looks really awesome and if I had some of those, I'd sit there and watch them all day.

IMHO, I like the car now, you put runners on it, I lose all liking for it, I get them being on a Tahoe, but a CVPI, no way
