What Do I Need To Start?

Recommended Posts

I have been looking into LCPDFR and I had some questions. First, am I going to need to download anything or purchase anything other then LCPDFR and GTA IV? Secondly, can someone provide a link to a helpful video explaining how to install LCPDFR and any other programs I may need. My OS is Windows 7. Will that work with LCPDFR

I have also watched numerous videos of people playing LCPDFR and i was wondering if features such as the ability to call the paramedics, coroners, and tow trucks came standard with the download of LCPDFR, or if I will need to download those. Another question I have is how do I download new skins for police cars or the aforementioned features if not included in the initial download. Again, please provide a link to a video if possible.

Also, how will I spawn the police cars, and how will I be able to chose from multiple models and skins that I have downloaded every time I spawn one.

Could some please provide a link to a complete and accurate list of controls for LCPDFR. Also, I was wondering if LCPDFR was possible to play with an XBox 360 controller. If it is can you please explain how to transfer the keystrokes needed to play LCPDFR to an XBox controller, and if possible provide a video, as well as recommended controls when playing with an Xbox controller.

Finally, what is ELS, what does it do, will I need it, and how do I get it.

Also if someone could provide a link to an article or video on how to navigate the main menu, that would be great, because in the videos it looks very confusing.

I know this is a lot of questions, but any bits and pieces are helpful

  • You have to buy GTA IV or EFLC in order to play LCPD:FR.
  • LCPD:FR is free.
  • When you have GTA IV or EFLC installed with latest patches (GTA IV - 1.0.7.0, EFLC - 1.0.2.0), only thing you have to do is launch the installer as administrator and follow the instructions.
  • No, calling coroners and tow trucks doesn't come with LCPD:FR, they are from another modifications for GTA IV and EFLC called >vdH METT/Coroner Mod and >vdH TowingService which are used in conjunction with the >vdH PoliceHelper.
  • Take a look at this tutorial section on how to install new vehicles models and vehicle textures. (http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/vehicle-modification-tutorial/)
  • To spawn vehicle and player models, and also other stuff use Simple Native Trainer 6.5.
  • List of LCPD:FR controls in .pdf file ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>), and you can also press Shift+Tab when in-game which will open a window with LCPD:FR controls.
  • I never used Xbox360 controller for PC because I don't have it so I can't help you with that.
  • Download >ELS v7 and read the manual that comes with it, it will explain on how to install, how it works, what are the controls, etc.

Also make sure you read this. (http://www.lcpdfr.com/forum-20/announcement-5-need-support-read-this-first/)

Everything is explained in the text files called ReadMe which are included in all three vDH modifications.

Install LCPDFR first and get the hang of it.  Then add other mods as you feel comfortable doing so.  We'll help ya out if you have issues.

You can download the keys chart at the download section of this site, towards the bottom.

Check the stickies at the top of the LCPDFR support forum for detailed instructions on installing LCPDFR as well as trouble shooting issues.

Most important; Enjoy this most excellent mod.
