Best program to record games

Recommended Posts

Hello guys

I would ask you, what program do you like to record games like GTA IV without many FPS dropping

I like Fraps but it only records for 30 seconds.

What do you guys use?

Regards, THB

Xfire in-game is decent for my needs. There are some other premium software out there. Some people use the in-game Video Editor to edit the videos you record using the F2 button.

Hypercam2, or Camastia.

I use Hypercam.

No, i used to play runescape and that was a simple desktop recorder i used.

Sorry for the confusion, thought you were asking for any type of program to record.

Yes runescape, but it isn't a real game (It just a java game), but yes hypercam is good for that, not DirectX/OpenGL games

It's NicolaiB.

Okay, what does he use?

Another one i can think of is wegame, i know some people who use that to record WOW, and some other call of duty games.

My other suggestion is buying a Analog/Digital Video Conversion that plugs into your computer and no worry about FPS.

I don't have a very good video card

But I do have a very good CPU and RAM

Nvidia GT220

Intel Core i5 2,7 GHZ

6 GB Ram

My FPS is low around 15/20/30 without fraps, so I don't know if I can record

All settings are on medium

One of the most important things with fraps, is that you have another drive to record to.

btw, why do you have that graphics card? Its a real bottleneck.

Because it was standard in my pc, I don't open it because of the guarantee.

But it has DX10.1 and 1 GB GPU

I have 2 hard drive's (1tb total)

Do I need to convert it after recording?

Fraps can record more than 30 seconds if you buy it.

Maybe I do in the future

You don't really need another HDD for Fraps, but you do need to set down your GTA IV settings most of the time, since Fraps needs a lot of RAM/Processing power/HDD access.
