How to backup cdimages in GTA IV

Featured Replies

This is going to sound stupid...but oh well

How do I back up my cdimage files in GTA IV when I mod something. Do I use SparkIV or do I just find the file manually and copy it somewhere else...

I'd recommend before starting to mod ANYTHING, make a copy of the whole vanilla GTA IV folder, this way you don't have to worry about not having backups.

All you need to do is go to your program files which is in your C drive.

It will be \Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\models\cdimages

Then you have

- vehicles.img

- componentpeds.img

etc.. just copy them to another location.

That's it you have your backup

Or you can back up your whole \Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\

that's what I do and I usually do it monthly so If i install something I can go back to the previous version to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game.

I agree with Break. I have done this for both GTA IV and EFLC. It has never let me down.

Believe it or not, we don't provide support for PPM seeing as we are the community for LCPDFR , a totally different modification.

Also, Necroposting... Don't do it. I'm locking this, if the OP request's this to be re-opened, PM me.
