What do you think of people who hate cops?

My grandfather was a motorcycle cop in the Toronto Police Service for 20 or so years back in the 70's. I have heard stories from him about his time and was raise to respect cops. The idiot kids that didn't like them at my former high school (I have since graduated) hated cops for telling them not to do obviously stupid things like, skateboarding across the road in traffic, throwing objects at people and public DWI and DUID. After they saw me on my spare playing LCPDFR, the vast majority became friendlier to cops (partly too because I told them they would get nowhere other than maybe walmart since Mcdonalds rejected their applications) and some even graduated! To put that in perspective, their marks when they hated cops and did stupid shit were either 45 or below (Canadian grading system out of 100) and they raise their marks up (partly mind you) by respecting the not just the law, but others as well and graduated with either 65 or 70. A few made honors too (80 or above average in all 4 courses per semester) just by a simple attitude change towards cops doing their job.

That's good man!

A lot of people mix up abusing their badge and doing police work. Some times you need to stand up as a cop and say "l'm the one in charge in not you, now sit down and shut the hell up" A lot of people will see that abuse of the badge but that isnt abuse. That is just using force to be able to get your job done. Now lets say you use your badge to cut a line to a movie then yes that abuse. But a lot of what you see isnt abuse. Cops can't be mr.nice guy, because if they did well they would just stepped on and people would just ignore them. So if they start to see that happening they will step up and say who is in charge here and say who has the badge. Like a while ago I was on a ride along and this women just kept interrupting and wouldn't let him get a word in, he needed to end the traffic stop and get her to sign the ticket (as we had a 911 call) he raised his voice basically told her to shut up and sign the ticket.

Yeah a lot of people hate when cops yell at them, or tell them what to do, etc. When, like you said, trying to do their job. That's a big problem

Depends where you are though as to how cops are allowed to/meant to act. I know where I live and from talking to the one in my village, his force are told specificially they are not allowed to raise their voices or get into verbal arguments with people over things, or use force. Though....given I live out in the country with farmers and sheep....what are they going to fight with...rowdy sheep?

If a cop where I live told me 'Shut the hell up' to somebody, they may well get written up for verbal abuse if a complaint was made (Yes, English policing is strange...and paperwork heavy), or if a superior cop hears it they may write them up themselves. It's stupid but that's how it is in my country. I don't agree with it but rules are rules and hard to change...sadly.

I agree with most of you guys.

Good Cops doing there job the right way, definetly deserve my respect.

Bad Cops banding the rules, abusing the badge need to get shot.

They don't deserve to whear it. They are a dicrease to all the good cops out there

About people hating the police...there was a Episode of Cops where a Women got arrested for having drugs on her... what she said to the officer was:

"I hate you cops...you ruin peoples lifes...how am i supposed to raise my children when you arrest me ? I love the fire fighters and the medics, but i hate the Cops"

WTF...so basicly she's saying that the Cop ruined her life by doing his job? I mean it's not HE who had the damn Crack in his pocket you know what i mean? If you are so stupid to do something fucked up like drugs...girl...the only one to blame for your ruined life yourself

i love cops, but dirty cops make me sick to my stomach. People who hate cops can suck it, they only hate cops because their daddy fucked up when they (the person who hates cops) was young and had to spend Christmas without them, or they had a bad experience with a dirty cop and can't get their head out of their ass and realize that not all cops are like that.

I say before people should hate on other people , they should be willing to try what they do.

I.E before people hate cops they should try to be one.

In short all im saying is they should be in the other persons shoes for a day

Some people hate cops for a big reason...they were arrested for doing something stupid. Many think that cops are bullies who flunked in high school and couldn't get into college.Yet, in most cases college is a requirement to be a cop in the US. People say things like "cops beat their spouses and drink and drive" etc. That makes me mad cause many people label ALL cops like that. There are 3 types of people in this world-Good,Bad and Stupid (The same thing goes for cops). The stupid label the good and bad as bad.

This is all really odd... People came to LCPDFR to play as a cop in a game where crime runs rampant. I really thought everyone would be pro police. I expected the good cop versus bad cop thing, but hating all of them? Your opinions tho, gotta respect that. I love the Edmonton cops. I used to drive for a tow company on the police contract, and they all (excluding one giant dick, but I wont go into that) have been fair and honest, and the majority were awesome, admirable types, even to the suspies. Yay EPS, boo Australian cops apparently.
