Gunman Shot at two undercover detectives as they were entering the gate. They returned fire, and several officers from the station responded as well. As of right now, Both detectives went to hospital for minor wounds, are are out at the CP and fine (Luckily) A large area surrounding the PD station has been blocked off in attempt to find this gunman.

When I saw the title I instantly thought of the Walsh Street Police Shootings, in which two officers were ambushed and gunned down by a man with a shotgun. But I'm glad in this shooting the two officers are okay. Hopefully they'll find those responsible for it.

I am all for the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution, but this would be exigent circumstances, and the "Search all nearby houses and businesses" they would still need probable cause to believe the subject may be in there, before they put the boot to any door.

And how often has this been done for any shooting? I'm for equal treatment of people whether they are cops or not. Had it been 2 civilians shot at in the area, then we wouldn't be hearing about it and the police would've put out a BOLO on the suspect's description.

 

Probable cause wasn't an issue with the Boston Manhunt, and some families weren't given a chance to deny a search or ask for probable cause before being ripped out at gunpoint, as seen in this video:

I disagree, Shootings are always publicized on the news, (especially by those that want guns to be harder to get) I am for equal treatment as well, but law enforcement officers take it more personally when a brother/sister in blue gets injured or shot at. It is just a way of life, and it will not probably change anytime soon.
