Shots fired!

Featured Replies

I just got shot :(

I do appreciate the realism LCPDFR offers, especially when 'routine' traffic stops happen to turn into shootings.

However, I was wondering if there were any 'tells' or clues to when someone was reaching around for their ID, or something worse...

My ridealong experience has given me the fortune/misfortune to see some squirley in car behavior, and I was wondering if LCPDFR has any of this, or if these shootings are completely random.

Any help is appreciated,

     Thanks in advance

God I thought you actually got shot in real life :P

Well I have no tips really. Traffic Stops are extremely dangerous. In game I always approach the vehicle I pulled over with my firearm drawn to save time if the suspect pulls a weapon!

I pull them over, and park my vehicle at an angle, with the back being closest to the curb to:

A) Hopefully redirect AI Traffic and

B) To provide cover for myself, should the driver open fire on me

I saw that on "End of watch" and I started to do it, knowing those grannies with uzi's

Ha that was a cool scene. But they usually don't approach with their weapon drawn unless they feel they're in serious danger (like in that scene)

haha yep. I dont remember where i got the idea. I saw someone do it and thought it was good. You never know what can happen out there

I have found (on 0.95 at least) that when the AI car starts to drive away after being asked to get out, and a red blip DOESN'T appear on the map, that they are about to stop about 30 feet away, get out, and open fire.  If it wasn't for the red blip, there would be really no way to tell if they're taking off to chase or if they're taking off a short ways and then planning to open fire.  If you play on hardcore mode, though, a blip will never show (I believe).

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I always park my cruiser edged out as well. The best I've been able to do is get up to the mitigation zone (http://www.forcescience.org/trafficstop2.html) and take a wide look inside the car, but as it appears, there is no tell even when doing this.

The best improvement I can think of for the next LCPDFR update would be the option to do a passenger side approach (Maybe you could hit a hot key, and the circle just moves to the other side of the car, as well as your direction talking is reversed) that would be the safest, most realistic approach to traffic stops.

I saw end of watch opening night with one of my good friends, a patrol sergeant at a mountain town police department, and we both cried like little girls.

I love end of watch! I am obsessed with that movie :D

I always go on duty with a partner ( the only thing they are good for is protecting you from a granny with a uzi ) I always walk up with my MP5 or M4 out.
