Assorted law enforcement script suggestions

Featured Replies

Detective mod

Detectives are an important part of law enforcement. My idea is similar to lcpdfr but also similar to the video game la noire. you can investigate arsons, murders, assaults, rapes, break ins, kidnappings, theft,  etc. and even participate in the take down of the suspect

Swat mod

In the swat mod, you can  lead a team of 20 or so people (drive in separate cars; convoy) and take part in situations like raids, hostage situation, suicidal subjects, sting operations (bait car, drug, prostitution, etc.), barricaded subjects, etc.

Search and rescue

teams in an amount (to be determined) can ride in helicopters, boats, other vehicles can respond to calls such as suicidal subjects (threatening to jump from rooftops, bridges, etc.) stranded boat crews, etc.

LCPD:FR is focused on frontline police work (hence: First Response). Detectives and SWAT are very unlikely to happen.

I think these are really good suggestions. But that would take an immense amount of scripting and coding. From my limited knowledge scripting, even the most basic callout in LCPDFR can take a long-time to develop and then troubleshoot.

I'm just being realistic with you, your suggestions are great but if you really want to seem them come to fruition then you should learn how to script and make it a reality!

I agree with my fellow LCPDFR friends. Scripting will take a very long time, and it isn't easy work. Beta Testing on its own can take a good couple of weeks!

If you are hoping to do it though, I am more than happy to give you a hand, just PM me and I'll be ready!xD - I have a lot of experience with C++; C#; Python; Squirrel and various others.

Best of Luck.

I agree that this is a lot of work however I have seen some of the mods that people call swat team mods and what not but they are like most video games you will find on the subject..........they make them to be go in kill everyone and leave. However this is very unrealistic. Most swat missions (or at least in the small Delaware town I live in) go without shots fired, casualties, etc. and that's what im going for. IF ANYONE COULD TEACH ME EVEN THE BASICS OF SCRIPTING I WOULD DO IT. However I have no idea what to do even where to begin or even what program to use. If anyone could put time in to assist me with this wrether it be through Skype or whatever I would appreciate it but as I said I don't even know what program to use. But as I said before, I want to see each of these projects happen and if I could be the one to do it, it would be even better but I don't know where to begin.

Help?

HECK YEAH!

I also agree that this will take a while but It sounds like a good script to work on. If you want to try it, go for it.

I also wish I knew how to make these script mods

me too.............I don't know where to begin with any of this

I would love to do a detective script!!! Except I'm no good at actually spawning events in game. I believe PoliceHelper is coming out with a somewhat Forensic aspect (i.e. Collecting Evidence, etc.)

DO NOT quote me on that. That is what I have heard but I do not know Abraxas' plans for the PoliceHelper

What type of features though would you want in a detective script???

My Mods: Speed Radar Script, POE, LicenseAnalyzer

I think I might make something like this.

I actually started on a SWAT mod, and have currently written about 40% of it. But we'll see if I will continue on it.

But a detective mod sounds really interesting.

Right, @brock729, I have to concentrate on exams at the moment. However, on the 4th June I have 2 weeks free between my exams, as a result, we can work on the script together. SgtPerson, I can help you in completing the SWAT mod and us three can work together. I'm sure I have another of my friends on my friend list whom want to make scripts too, so we can all get onto my TS or something and just rock and roll!

Well we'll have to see. Currently I am really busy.

But it does sound like fun!

I would like it to be a cross between the game La noire (if you are familiar) and lcpdfr. I to have a message displayed stating the case and when you accept you show up to the scene gather evidence about whatever happened. Next I would have them dropped to a designated spot (police station) to have them "analised" then receive a second call a few minutes later with the results. Then be able to search the name of the suspect in the database to get a location and participate with a raid on the building the suspect currently occupies..................now that I spelled this out it seems like a lot more work than I had originally thought but still want to see it happen

yeah my intentions on this were to make it as realistic as possible. I see a lot of swat games where you storm a building kill everyone and leave and its so stupid because its so unrealistic. If you have started a mod similar to my description (you don't kill everyone in sight) then sweet! I would definitely download it

I'm busy at the moment so we'll start end of June time...plenty of time:)

so are you guys saying you are willing to help?

As I said, I've written about 40% on a SWAT mod that is MINE.

As for helping out and working with you guys, we'll see.

Due to my OCD, I feel really uncomfortable working in groups on a project.

But it does sound like a fun project to work on with you guys. =)

Would never try to steal your project and respect that you don't like to work in groups..........this would be my first script so is more of a learning experience for me but if you could help that would be great and appreciated

I appreciate that, but I'm not saying no to the project.

I would love to help you and teach you how to code. =)
