How long would it take to convert a Humster3D model? I'm looking to give something back to the "modeling community" as a whole... a "gift" you may say. I'm looking to purchase the 2014 Chevy Impala (http://humster3d.com/2012/09/14/chevrolet-impala-2014/) and need someone with skills on converting it. Once completed, the model will be available unlocked for all modelers too use it freely.

 

Nutt, I am sad to say, as I had a similar idea.

Humster3D's ToS states that you may edit the model, but may not redistribute in anyway including locked. 

It depends on how much effort you are looking to put forward. And how high poly it is. It would take me 2-4weeks most likely.  

Hum, I could have swore I seen converted Humster3D models and parts around. Anyhow, if its a problem - nevermind. Just wanted to give a little something back.

I can tell just by looking that this is WAY to highpoly, I mean it looks to be at lest 8 or so MB and that just the model 

Yeah I know. I figured a high and medium polygon model would be created from the source material.

yea, nick ace is correct. you can use parts and model in other games from humster3d but you cant release there work unlocked as they would lose all profit from that 3d creation. you could still buy the model and send it to any experienced modeler and they might be able to shirk the poly count down to a suit able number.

you could send it to me and i would be able to do it for you but as far as releasing it unlocked thats a no no and would bring up some lawsuits from humster3d for distributing there model without there permission and violating the terms of use

If you take an advice, don't buy Humster3D models. They are really inaccurate. I believe what he does is, add a billion polygon, make a nice render and there you go. But you can see that the shape is not like the real one.

It may be possible that the un-smoothed model might have a lower poly count. You could contact them before you purchase and ask them.
