Add-On Vehicle Not Spawning In With AmbientSpawns

Featured Replies

As the title says, I have an ESU truck I want to be spawned in on the side of the building, but as you can see in the picture below:Could contain: sky, screenshot, outdoor, pc game, digital compositing, video game software, 3d modeling

The truck isn't there. I have checked the log for any help and there is nothing. I have put the code for the station down below:

Spoiler

<Station>

        <Name>PAPD: LSIA Station</Name>

        <Agency>papd</Agency>

        <ScriptName>lsxAirport</ScriptName>

        <Position>-864.61f, -2408.92f, 14.03f</Position>

        <Heading>60</Heading>

        <CamEndOffset>-17f, -43f, 3f</CamEndOffset>

        <CamPointOffset>10f, -5f, 1f</CamPointOffset>

        <DropOffPosition>-864.7288f, -2363.617f, 13.42871f</DropOffPosition>

        <PrisonBusPosition>-861.2222f, -2346.491f, 14.21414f</PrisonBusPosition>

        <PrisonBusHeading>86</PrisonBusHeading>

        <GaragePosition>-887.7394f, -2373.455f, 14.02436f; 140f</GaragePosition>

        <GarageSpawnPosition>-897.2624f, -2384.005f, 13.5493f; 148f</GarageSpawnPosition>

        <AmbientSpawns>

            <Spawnpoint chance="100" position="-901.31f, -2391.13f, 16f" heading="150f">

                <Vehicle>portesu</Vehicle>

            </Spawnpoint>

        </AmbientSpawns>

    </Station>

The spawn code is correct as I have copied it from OpenIV.

Any help is appreciated. As of writing this, I have spent 6 hours trying to get this truck to spawn outside of using a trainer, and I'm all out of options

Ambient vehicles including police cars are spawned via "cargen." Station.xml only defines station entrance position, garage entrance position, and suspect drop-off position, it does not spawn any cars.

In this case, in order for the ambient police car to spawn at the airport station, you'll need to disable LSPDFR spawn block first, by changing the value from false to true in lspdfr.ini: "Ambient.DisableAmbientGameCopSpawnBlock = true."

(please be aware that this will affect all station spawns, meaning you'll see lots of CVPIs and police bikes spawn in every station's parking lot, and cops near the stations will be changed to vanilla officers instead of EUP officers.)

After that, you should be able to see a regular police CVPI spawn on the side of the building, regardless of whether you're on duty or not. If it's not there, try to drive away from the airport, and come back; or change the time of the day via Trainer.

Now you have two options, you can either replace "police" with the ESU truck, or, you can edit its spawn position, and, create a new spawn point for the ESU truck next to it. Either way, you will need to download CODEWALKER

Below are two comprehensive guides on how to edit "cargen" via CodeWalker:

@unitedOrange66Would having a vehicle trailer that crashes your game when you try to spawn it cause CodeWalker to not load mods?

If you're going to spawn a vehicle mod, you need to turn on "enable mods" in CodeWalker.

I assume the reason for that crash is because you didn't enable mods.

No, it crashes when I have mods enabled on startup. If I don't, I just get an endless loading cycle.

Make sure to download the latest version of CodeWalker on their Discord, please refer to the following forum:

Ok, so I now have the agency patrolling around in the Airport and Ports area. I had to put the agency itself into the custom folder, then set up a custom zone for the areas for them to be able to patrol in with the backup.xml file. Still working on getting the big ESU truck to spawn at the station @unitedOrange66@darkblue
