Help a lost soul

Good day all,

Long time ago I had played LSPDFR when it came out for GTA IV and it was a blast then. Since then, my computer went to the wayside.

However, I have bought a new computer recently, and finally decided to play LSPDFR for GTA V after seeing all the videos. The trouble is, this is way more complex then when it was for GTA IV.

I'm wondering if there is anyone who would be kind enough to help me through using Discord, to walk me through it in terms of what mods I need, how to install?

So far I only have the game, LSPDFR, and Open IV installed.

But when I loaded up the game, it didn't have the game beat. I had to play the first few missions before I could play as LSPDFR.

I know what I am asking is a lot, but I had to do this the first time around with GTA IV also. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

Have a look at this: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/

There's a number of YouTube videos that have been released that assist many users with how to install not only LSPDFR but a wide variety of modifications. I'd post one here but there's really a lot of different good ones out there, so take a look around.

There are also unofficial discord servers that assist with support for game related issues and walking through how to do certain actions. If you've installed and played LCPDFR (GTA IV Mod) it can be initially daunting to figure out how modding works on GTA V but it is quite similar. I will say however that after reading/watching a few guides and speaking to community members it makes sense quickly and shouldn't be hard in no time. I had the same apprehension when I first started modding my game, but quickly learned the how with the above resources. Not to mention that since the game has been out for so long and majority of the difficulties of modding have been ironed out and it's far more streamlined/easy.

Just take you're time and add one thing at a time and test to ensure stability. With most mods as long as their installed correctly you should have minimal issues that are easily de-bugged with some digging.

Best of luck!

That cant be omitted!
Playing LSPD:FR is only possible after you have opened free roaming in GTAV
When "Frankling" can enter his house and garage, you are good to go, but not before!

Let me know if you find it interesting.
Best Regards.

This is not an easy mod to play... I watched videos and read posts. I still can't get mods for this to work. I do as the install instructions say for the mods for lcpdfr, go to start the game to test and it crashes.

When I run lcpdfr on vanilla, no problem. Works well. Im clearly doing something wrong with loading/ installing mods thats causing the game to crash but I have no idea. This is way more complicated than gta IV.

GTA modding has changed dramatically over the years, it only became more complicated. The "good old days" has long gone, where you just simply "drag and drop" to install a mod and it will work perfectly. Now, other than basic modding knowledge, there's so much things to consider especially when combining several mods together.

At first don't expect you will have all the mods that you see from certain YouTuber's video, they did not install all those mods at once.

I recommend to install the basic LSPDFR first, then add additional plugins or scripts one by one; launch the game and test those mods. Then add more mods into the game with this approach over time, similar as what you would do for GTA IV LCPDFR.

This way you will be able to troubleshoot any crashes easily, and you will develop some ideas of why your game is crashing without being totally confused. Hopefully this helps.
