To The Guides & Content Creators - Thank You & Constructive Feedback

Featured Replies

First of all, a big thank you to all of the content creators on Youtube making video guides on basically everything!

I started messing around with LSPDFR during the christmas holidays, alot has changed and even more mods, scripts and plugins have been created since I last dabbled with LCPDFR all the way back in GTA IV. It's actually quite astonishing how far it's come since release and without YouTube and the guides/content creators I would have been lost, so thank you!!

However! And purely as suggestive and well-meant construtive feedback!

Some of the video guides are quite long due to some mods/plugins being more complex and that's fine, but some video guides are just to long. And before I get knocked out of my deputy boots for criticizing someone else's work, which is not my intention! The reason some video guides, atleast for me becomes to long for the purpose it's suppose to serve is when during a 20 minute video guide, 1 or 2/5th of the guide itself is stopping mid guide up to 3-6 times to show how to find your GTA V root folder, how to mark- or go to a folder marked as favorite, how to select more then one file at the time and so on.

I know everything is well-meant I really do but to show and explain the most basic computer skills and knowledge more then just in the beginning shouldn't be necessary if you're installing mods in the first place. A guide is suppose to showcase the easiest and most explanatory way of doing something you don't already know how to do. And sometimes I think some really important or useful information gets lost in the overfriendly process?

Quick example before I show myself out:

EXAMPLE, NOT A QUESTION!
When installing a new ELS vehicle, I have yet to this day after watching atleast 50 hours of video guide content on YouTube since christmas been explained or informed what to do[or]if there is anything to do, or be aware of if you do anything else other then drag & drop the vehicle files and VCF files? If you're installing a new car that's named fbi or fbi2 but you've already installed a car that uses fbi or fbi2, is changing the name of the VCF file and .ytf, .ytd and _hi.ytf, +hi.ytd to one of the other police slots enough? Do you need to change anything inside the files themself or the vehicle.meta?

Thanks again for all the guides and like it said, I don't mean to criticize or bash anyone! Just a suggestion & feedback and if my wierd head is the only one who thinks this then I'm sorry!

There are a lot of of people who do not possess these basic computer skills, hence why a lot of videos cover the basics.

This was actually super helpful. Thanks Dehnzer! I was planning to post a few different tutorials since I only posted one like almost 2 years ago but what I think I'm going to do is have a simple computer things tutorial for stuff like clicking more than one file, how to make backups, where to find the root folder, pinning folders, etc. As Well as one for common requirements and where to install them like OpenIV, RageNativeUI, Scripthook, etc. Then when I do make the actually tutorials I'll briefly shoutout those videos with links in the description.

I would also like to Thank all the authors of all the mods/plugins they created to make LSPDFR better.  Also, the main people who created LC/LSPDFR, the Staff.  Nobody really gets paid for this, I assume lcpdfr.com staff does, by ads so they can keep this going.  There are bills to pay running a website.  For most of the creators this is just a hobby like all of us playing.  I don't know how to make mods/plugins, vehicles, uniforms, callout creators, ect.  I just modify and play it.  So without all those "extras" it would probably get boring fast.  And of course to everyone who plays this.  If there weren't people who used this mod then this would be a dead website.  👍
