LCPD:FR Live wall.

Featured Replies

Was watching the live wall here when it suddenly came to me.

If someone where to make their own server running GTA IV- LCPD:FR would it be possible to have a live wall just for that server say on your own profilepage? Its not a demand or anything , just thought it would be cool to have. Picture this:

Someone is watching the live wall and wants to join in on that same action, then they just type in the server adress and boom they are in.

And btw...the live wall is wierdly hypnotic. Its like watching the matrix screensaver. Its hard to stop XD

If you dont know where the live wall is then you can find it by clicking the crime stats button up in the right there next to gallery.

It would be a lot of unnecessary work, but it does not sound like a bad idea. I know a while ago, was talking about enhancing LCPDFR's multiplier experience, but I don't know how that's going. Maybe in the near future we will be able to see something like this.

FORMER COMMUNITY TEAM

Because the data comes from LCPDFR installations and send it to the server, it is possible that you could set up "groups" of members that are in a match, and then display them on a separate page, however the dev team would have a lot of work to do to get it working properly. If a API is ever released, I may work on integrating it into my clan.

At the moment the URL to access a user's stats:

http://www.lcpdfr.com/cops/usagestats/endpoint.php

requires the user's API key. Which you should not be giving anyone as it is basically your password. If there was a read only API key then that might be possible though.

Hmmm... Sniper, do you think it would be possible to create a form where the user enters their key which is then stored in a SQL database, and then create a live stats that way?

I may look into that when I get some spare time.

I do not see why not, but a read only API key would probably be needed as the current one can be used to write to the crime statistics. A malicious user could use someone else's API key to spam their stats and get them banned.

You can access it here

http://www.lcpdfr.com/api?apikey=http://www.lcpdfr.com/api?apikey=[YOUR APP API KEY]&variable=statistics&action=render&username=[uSERNAME]

Omit the username to get overall stats, you could generate a percentage with them.

You can generate your API key here

http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/csapikeygen

from the dropdown select "Third-party application".

Your statistics will be in JSON[PHP,Python] form

{"mpstart":0,"chases":701,"arrests":1033,"tickets":442,"backup":1860,"officersdown":19,"accidents":307,"noose":177,"helis":131,"evidence":41}

Your app API key can access everyone's stats so you do not need anyone's API keys.

Doubt it would be difficult, not done any IPB dev in ages but you could just add a profile feild for their LCPDFR username and then download each user's stats on a schedule into a MySQL table (recommend at least 6h between requests too keep server load to a minimum).
