Best Police Chase I've Ever Seen

Featured Replies

I know plenty of you have seen some good chases on TV now and then, and maybe a few LEO's on here have had some real life experiences. But this dashcam recorded chase has got to be the scariest, and most adrenaline fueld chase I have ever seen. A guy in a black Chevy Cavalier goes past a radar gun a little too fast, and then slams the gas after he realizes he'll get pulled over. That cop is one hell of a driver, and that was a satisfying end around 7:55. The cop mouthing the words "Why'd you run?" around 8:26 and his reaction is hilarious. lol

The guy who runs this channel has several good videos (only the more recent ones have audio & radio chatter) of various police chases. I'd also check this one out too:

I hate to see more crime, but I hope he keeps his channel up and post new videos now and then to make people aware of the challenges these officers face every day.

The sad thing is that Lakewood Ohio is supposed to be one of the nicer cities in the state. But I'm sure all adults here knows that doesn't mean various thugs from other towns won't bring their problems with them.

Anyway, enjoy.

Shit, all those parked cars, relatively narrow residential streets and the level rail crossings here and there? I would not be keen to give that a go any day.

I love how the suspect still uses his indicators correctly throughout the pursuit. I guess he didn't want to add 'fail to signal' to his rap sheet?

Yeah, you can call people who run from the polcie a lot of names, but "smart" isn't one of them. But yes, I was really worried when they squeezed past that dump truck a couple of minutes in, and again when crossing an active intersection and the people who had the green light didnt' seem to pay attention to the oncoming sirens or the guy blowing the intersection in front of them.

LOL yeah. Something funny is that in most pursuits they actually charge you for your traffic violations. Like all the red lights you ran and stop signs and stuff like that. Also, I heard that if you are in a pursuit and you hit a car and keep going(obciously you would since your running from the police) then you can also get hit and run added to your rap.

It might depend on the agency Beckugan1, as I've talked to officers who say they lump it all underneath "reckless driving" and will make the fine and/or jail time higher depending on what they do. And yes, hit and run in that context is a felony.

And yeah, the pursuing officer did a hell of a job. I was surprised they didn't terminate the chase sooner. I think that officer wanted to catch that kid BAD.

Yeah at rates that high, I wouldve have probably needed to pull over and safety pin my balls to my leg :D

Hell of a job by the department as a whole. I was watching a lot of vids on youtube and I am not going to start a thread but if you type in Police Pursuit dashcam you will get a hell of a good results page.

There was one where the guy starts shooting at the officers while driving 130mph

Good driving by the officer but that really was just luck. That was not safe at all, I wouldn't be proud of that, that could've ended badly if a kid was in the middle of a crosswalk on one of those blind corners.

He threw caution to the wind. And then the way he apprehends the suspect, what if the suspect had a gun? He had trouble taking out his gun.

I agree it was very dangerous. It's a judgement call as to whether to terminate the pursuit or not, and if so; when to terminate it. The officer chose to continue. He did show restraint in a few parts of the video however at a lot of the intersections and busy traffic areas, and he certainly did not go for a pit. I still applaud his driving skill, despite the dangers. Luckily nobody got injured.
