Website incredibly slow

Featured Replies

Hi.

Since a few weeks the whole website is really slow. Mods pages take up to a few minutes to fully load. But it works perfectly fine when using tor, so the problem exists only with my home internet. Can you help me with that?

It took me 17 minutes to reply to this topic, so I guess the "fix" made the problem even worse. After switching to tethering a few times, I finally managed to load this thread. It looks like I'm having issues with the Europe regionserver.

What do you mean by download speed?

The website and our downloads are separately served from two individual systems (website going through our own CDN system, and downloads going through a commercial CDN). Download speed for downloading mods from the site would not be related to the original issue.

The only 'slow' thing I can tell to load is the images on the mods page, but apart from that, it's the same as always, nothing to bother.

We are not observing any speed issues with our European server. I know that we’ve seen contention issues with your ISP in the past, unfortunately the issue here is between your ISP and ours. It has been reported but this still is not fixed.

I don't really know what that means 🙂  but even posting here in the forum is affected by this, as my unintentional double post above shows (I only hit "Submit" once!).

The downloads are super fast, the web pages however take forever to load (images, ads, content), it's currently almost impossible to browse/search for files, I always go through google to get at least to the page I need.... In the past years it has always been quite  slow from what I remember, but it has never been this bad.

I hope it gets fixed somehow, especially since there's apparently no issue with the servers as you wrote...

Hello, I have the same problem in The Netherlands (Holland). The website takes a few minutes to load and when I go to the dowload page or another page,  that page can not load because the webside is moved or temporally down. It is all very slow.
