Simple request: default Washington - Taxi

Featured Replies

Hello,

Usually I don't do this, but I was wondering if someone could make the default Washington "Town Car" into a taxi.

I really think this is simple enough, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure what goes into making it so it has the location selector like on regular taxi's.

Also, provided is a link to an unlocked version of a Washington, in case it is needed. The original may be just as useful, but I figured I'd list this here as well.

Thanks to KevinDV for the model.

Just another wanted mod to add that feeling of lore-friendly realism to a NYC style game. Tons of black Washington taxis, just like in NY for a $20 flat fee anywhere. It was pretty comfy when I used one :)

Thanks in advance! In return I can do a livery texture if you'd like. See my thread for my work.

Bumping this, any takers? Saw a black Town Car today and thought about it. Any tutorials on making a taxi perhaps? I'll look into it but send me links if you got 'em.

Try detaching the parts from the original taxi & place them & the right hierarchy of the car. Then map it & make livery?

If you want my attention, quote me.

That's like a five minute project.

I'll do it soon I suppose.

Edit: I'm not sure a livery is worth it but I'll do one anyway.

Very awesome, thanks Harper! I can happily make the liverys, though I don't believe real Town Cars have them. I'll look into it if they have any markings of any sort to designate themselves as taxis. Perhaps on the windows...

If you could however map the license plate area so I can make different plates I would appreciate it!

I wonder if there is a way to isolate a car to stay to one part of the map?? I'm sure its in one of the files somewhere, but was curious...looking to set this one to the island of algonquin of course.

I'm having a hard time finding source material. Anyone know of where I can find if these have markings? From what I can tell, they only have front window stickers designated them as "for hire".

Also need to figure out license plate designations. From what I've gathered they only have an "H" as the first marking.

A livery could also come in handy when GTA V comes out, quick replacement. Man I hope they don't change the vehicle data so they GTA IV cars have to be converted for some reason.

Anyone out there that can show me how to add the taxi's destination block that rotates locations, I would appreciate it. All that needs to be done is add that to the interior and have it working. No need for taxi lights and adverts.

Thanks in advance!

If anyone out there can adjust the positioning of the destination marker box I can release my version with all the markings in relation to the real thing:

T & LC plates

Taxi markings and registrations in the front windshield

Custom dirt textures for added swankiness, cleaner taxis (like the real thing most are quite clean in NY)

I can make a custom skin for anyone willing to help out in making this a (hopefully) quick fix with the destination marker box for full compatibility.
