the United States spends WAY to much money on thing's they don't need, they have a seperate division for every type of crime out there.. now this?..

@Slimory The NYPD has a bigger budget than most of the world's militaries. And a lot of Americans wonder why we're $16 trillion in debt.

Doubt that it really exists. I'd believe it when I saw it.

@ l3ubba: It does! I have one in my community! in fact the 71 Prct is Crown Heights where I live. Its basically the NYPD equivilant of Neighborhood Watch, with semi police trained civilians. I had made a post asking someone to make one & they finally did! THANK YOU SIR! although the LIGHTBAR is a Federal Signal Vision SL (same as regular NYPD patrol cars) just with amber lighting

What's the difference between this and auxiliaries?

Auxiliaries are also volunteers BUT they go thru certain PD training the the C.O.P. people dont.... Auxiliaries are able to perform arrests in certain situations, they carry department radios & handcuffs.... C.O.P's (Civilian Observation Patrol or Citizen On Patrol) can only call in the crime, follow the suspect & radio the locations until PD arrives. they CAN try to detain the suspect, but CANNOT restrain them with force
