** NOTE REGARDING RPH CRASHES **

If your GTA V crashes to the desktop, and RPH says that the crash was most likely caused by Keep Calm...to put it simply, it most likely was not caused by Keep Calm.

RPH tries to detect which plugin caused the crash by calculating which plugin was running at the time of the crash. Keep Calm runs constantly in the background, so naturally, RPH will think that Keep Calm is the culprit whenever you have a game crash.

GTA V can CTD for any number of reasons. Keep Calm does not do anything heavy enough to cause a game crash...I am not saying that it will never happen, but it has never happened in the history of Keep Calm's development. Anyone who has reported a CTD crash so far has had their issues stemming from elsewhere.

If you get an RPH crash that says Keep Calm was the cause, try un-installing Keep Calm, or disabling it from starting in the RPH settings. If the crashes persist, your issues are being caused by something else.

If the crashes go away, then re-install Keep Calm by downloading the latest release from LCPDFR.com. If the crashes then return, we need to diagnose the issue further, and you should post a comment here (or in the forum topic) so we can look into it.

** IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE ENTITY PERSISTENCE MOD!! **

If you use the Entity Persistence mod by FtDLulz, you need to do ONE of two things...

  • If ped persistence is enabled, ensure that it is set to only 'persist' dead peds, not live ones (this is the default setting, to my knowledge)
  • OR...Disable ped persistence entirely

If ped persistence is enabled, and set to 'persist' LIVE peds, then Keep Calm will have NO effect at all!! (Not to mention that you will have performance issues if you do that!)

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Requirements
You must have at least version v0.41 of the RAGE Plugin Hook installed, LSPDFR v0.3.1, as well as v1.6.0.1 of the Stealth.Common DLL, which is packaged with this release. Keep Calm will check these versions on startup, and will refuse to run if older versions are installed.

You must have a fully legal, non-pirated version of GTA V.

Installation
- Copy the Keep Calm.dll and Keep Calm.ini files into the Plugins folder of your GTA V directory.

- Copy the Stealth.Common.dll file into your main/root GTA V directory.

Features
- Nearby drivers and pedestrians should not panic in the event of gunfire (police officers are excluded)
- Some customization is available via the config file
- Peds spawned by LSPDFR and LSPDFR plugins are excluded, to eliminate conflicts with callout plugins

Usage
- Press the toggle keybind (CTRL + 9 by default) to start/stop Keep Calm
- Keep Calm will start on it's own by default, unless the auto-start is disabled in the config file

Known Issues
Please note that GTA V does not always provide access to every pedestrian and vehicle in the area, and some peds may spawn AFTER the "calming" function has already been triggered. It runs in the background continuously, but each ped has to be modified individually.

As a result, some drivers and pedestrians may still panic in the event of gunfire. This may improve as new versions of the RAGE Plugin Hook are released.

This plugin has been released with the intent of minimizing the panic attacks experienced by the AI.

The panic attacks will NOT be eliminated completely, however, this plugin should hopefully minimize them enough to make the game more enjoyable. The main intent with this plugin is to not have drivers run officers over when they are in the middle of making an arrest after a pursuit.

What's New in Version 1.0.0

Released

VERSION 1.0.0

  • Keep Calm has been completely re-written from scratch!
  • NOTE: Keep Calm is now an LSPDFR plugin! It should be installed in the "Plugins\LSPDFR" directory, and it should not be loaded via the RPH console!
  • Requires RPH 41, as well as LSPDFR 0.3.1
  • Now calms peds that are on foot as well as in vehicles (police officers, peds in combat, or peds spawned by LSPDFR are excluded)
  • Some customization is available via the config file

I cannot wait for this to fix the stuttering issue - I REALLY BADLY want to use this mod, I think its essential and should be intergrated into LSPDFR if possible at some point.

I can confirm the stuttering issue on my end aswell. Was pulling my hair out figuring out what the hell was causing this, tried lowering the graphics settings, didn't help then i thought, this mod runs alongside the game at all times and it tries to control tons of peds at once so it must be this mod that's causing this and indeed it was. Running latest LSPDFR and latest version of gta 5. I know you are aware of this issue, just saying it happens to me too. Hopefully you'll get it fixed.

Quick update, guys...

I was fiddling around with it earlier today, and it looks promising. The lag seems to be gone, but I want to test it some more, just to be sure.

Hope to have an update for you all soon!

Was not going to comment because loads of people seem to have the same problem game stutter every 5 seconds apart from that would be great if this could be fixed,, my specs are

AMD FX8350 16GB ram 2x GTX770 (sli) 2 1500GB hybrid drives 12 mods installed latest updates and this is the only mod that makes the game stutter

Will the new update from rockstar affect this mod at all? I have been reading claims that people who were experience stuttering in game no longer are thanks to the R* update, but I don't know if those stuttering issues could be in anyway at all related to what makes the game stutter with the keep calm mod installed.

Also, @stealth22; do you think you could possibly throw in something to this mod that improves the AI's aggressiveness in general? By that I mean make it so that peds are less likely to get in fist fights/shootouts with you just because you are standing or walking next to them and things along those lines.

Also, I do not know if everyone experiences this, but it seems that like every single time I do a traffic stop in game, a ped runs over and steals my car or the one I am pulling over. If you could find a way to make it so that this is not so frequent or just not possible, that would be great, because lets be honest, not very many people are going to run up to where the cops are and just steal their car, and it definitely is not something that would happen on a daily basis, lol. This, or a good vehicle lock script, because I have yet to find one for offline, lol.

The random pedestrians stealing your car has nothing to do with this mod, or any mod for that matter. This is based on GTA V's cleanup logic. A random pedestrian, or an assigned pedestrian will "cleanup" what GTA V assumes to be abandoned vehicles, this comes in the form of a pedestrian taking the car. I believe the latest update to LSPDFR addresses this by the means of attaching a "tracking chip" similar to the one you buy from LS Customs on GTA Online and Single Player.

Alternatively there is mods out there that give you the option to lock whatever vehicle you're driving and a handful of other assorted features. Most notably ( to me at least), is MoreControIV. It may also be worth mention to try and or check out a mod called EntityPersistence, as the name suggests it keeps entity's, pedestrians, abandoned/left, and occupied vehicles persistent until you've left a user defined area, all customizable through an .INI file.

Version 0.5.0 has been released.

I did not have a chance to give this to anyone for testing, which is something that I wanted to do, in an ideal world.

However, the version you guys have had up until now has not been usable at all, ever since v393.2 of GTA V was released. I wanted to get a fix to you guys ASAP.

Fingers crossed, this should fix all of the freezing issues. In the testing I have done, I have not had any freezing at all in v393.2. Please note that I do not yet have the v393.4 update, so it has NOT been tested with the newest update.

But from what I have read, that update removes a good portion of the "junk" code from the last update, so performance should be improved.

Let me know if there are any issues.

Enjoy!!

Glad to hear that it works.

The bad news is, I just found out last night that Keep Calm is interfering with my callouts plugin, which is still in development.

It takes away the peds' ability to think, so if you use any callout plugins now, expect it to interfere.

It doesn't cause any performance issues, but it just makes the peds really timid, so they don't react to...anything. The peds will strictly do only as they are told. In other words, the peds will only do what they are programmed to do, nothing else.

Looking for a workaround to the problem...perhaps I might have to ignore any peds that are on foot, and only "calm" peds that are driving a car. But that still won't 100% fix this problem. It may still interfere with callouts that involve vehicles.

At least for now, it works. I'll probably release another temporary update that only applies the calming effect to peds that are in a vehicle.

If you can get peds in cars calmed down and the peds on foot to react, and it works with your callout scripts then that's not bad. the problem is the chaos the vehicles create, nobody really has a problem with peds since, well, they don't get in the way.

Hopefully you can find a work around though =)

Yeah, the end goal is to not have cars flying around killing anything in their path. So I'll probably release a hotfix that only applies the effect to vehicles, just as a temporary measure. I've already made the code change, but it needs to be tested, and I'm at work right now. (If any volunteers can test it in the next couple of hours, PM me please!!!)

I'm just worried about how that will affect callouts involving vehicles though...not pursuits, those won't be affected, I don't think, anyway.

I wish there was a way to call the LSPDFR API and disable Keep Calm if there is a callout in progress. That would solve everything. But right now, you can only access the LSPDFR API from the context of a callout.

Well i've used your script along with other callout plugins and the only car related ones i've seen are street races (which work fine) and the ambulance escort (which works ok, the ambulance doesn't realize where AI cars are so i highly doubt it's because of your mod). If you need testers then i can do it, i'm available for the next 4-5 hours =)

Many thanks to CouthInk4 for testing this latest build for me!

Version 0.5.1 has now been released...it will only "calm" peds that are in vehicles, and will ignore any pedestrians on foot.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU UPDATE TO RAGE PLUGIN HOOK v0.20.641.4077!

A BUG WITH THE "GETALLPEDS" FUNCTION OF RPH WAS FIXED LAST NIGHT, AND THIS FUNCTION IS USED BY KEEP CALM!!

Stealth, any idea when a 393.4 tested version will come out?

got roughly three hours of playtime in with the new ver of keep calm last night. Amazing work. no lag and it does just what it says it is supposed to do. Now, if only the peds themselves were more cautious when driving, I still get run over WITHOUT my gun out, lol.

Yup. I updated my GTA V to v393.4, and played for a while over lunch. Current version works just fine.

Unfortunately, that's just the drivers of Los Santos, lol.

But to combat that (at least on traffic stops), you can angle your vehicle in such a way that it protects you while you're dealing with the subject. There's also FinKone's Police Radio, which will let you put down barricades, and... (shameless plug incoming!) my Traffic Control plugin. :whistling:

I debating whether I want to stay with 0.5 or upgrade to 0.5.1. The reason being that I actually like when foot peds do not run away when I taze a suspect. In fact, I have seen a lot of them take out their phones and take pictures of me tazing suspects. Which, tbh, is what people would do in real life. EPIC MOD.

I already use ur traffic control plugin and it works great except for when I do a traffic stop and forget that when u press shift +H to remove a roadblock it also ends the traffic stop. this is a bit of a hassle when I am trying to get a roablock just right before I conduct the rest of the traffic stop. However, there are easy ways around this issue which I currently use, it just a timing issue. Also, idk if there is a way to edit the radius of the roadblock, but currently, that is one of my beefs with the traffic control mod. Sometimes I want to just shut down a single lane and not a whole highway...but other than that it is great, I mainly use the limit speed to 20mph feature for traffic stops, helps a lot.

Its CTRL + H to remove the nearest one, and CTRL + SHIFT + H to remove them all, so you can just hit CTRL + H and that will take care of it.

Thanks for the suggestion about the radius of the roadblock. I'll take a look at that after I've got my callouts plugin going.

So let me get this straight, Keep Calm 0.5.1 works fine with game version 393.4 and RPH 0.20 and for what I see so does Traffic Control without any sort of major issue, am I right?

I'm using Keep Calm 0.5.0 for the moment, because I want the ped to be calm too.

Working perfectly with all the mods I got, 393.4 and RPH 0.20.

I wait to see your Callout Plugin before moving to 0.5.1!

All in all, great work mate, that make arresting suspect a lot more easier now!
