Federal Signal SS2000 GTA V Siren Mod 1.0.0

(10 reviews)

Hello LSPDFR Community!

Today I introduce to you (possibly) the first siren mod for GTA V! It is the Federal Signal SS2000 Siren. This mod does not include the WAIL sound due to a bug of it not working, which I am trying to fix.

I made myself new siren tones, but when i imported the tones, and tested out in-game, it seems that the whole vehicle.awc is muted ! i cant even hear any horns ... Does this happen to you ?

Yes. I have no idea what is happening and why its going like that. I guess we will just have to change things.

It seems like that if you make a siren tone longer than the vanilla tones, it mutes everything ...........

I changed out a simple yelp tone that was half a second longer than yours and it doesn't work. I even tried changing out EMS and FD siren wails and it mutes. This doesn't look promising .... It looks like Rockstar added a track length limit ....

So does it only mute the sirens if its longer than the limit?

No, it mutes the entire vehicle.awc file. I tried adding a 5 second wail tone track length replacing the 3 sec FIB wail siren, did not work. I tried adding a longer wail tone for ambulance wail, again 3 seconds, to a 6 seconds length track, to no avail. However i was able to successfully replace the ambulance yelp tone with a 0.50 sec longer track than vanilla length. Same for Siren_02. I was also successful at replacing the fire truck wail/yelp tones as it fitted under the vanilla length limit. But for the rest of the fleet, theres a governor on siren length time,

Hopefully we can get around that.. Do you think something like els will come out? where the yelp, wail and other siren tones have their own button to just press instead of holding down e and hoping you get the one you want?

Thank you very much for this siren! I actually don't mind the default wail, but the priority/phaser was getting annoying, because it was on EVERY emergency vehicle in the game, and now it's different!

I managed to have a few custom wails imported, along with other tones, except for FIB, that one won't allow me to add a 4 sec track. What kind of fix are you talking about ?

I have a problem with this, whenever I replace the audio files (or other files too, not sure) with OpenIV, game redownloads the original files overwriting the modded ones so it doesn't work in-game.

I have OpenIV.asi and ScriptHook installed so that shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know if you can help with this problem but I'd appreciate it if you can!
