Cryptic Callouts is my first LSPDFR callout pack, developed for Grand Theft Auto V Legacy.
What started as a small hobby project has grown into 56 custom callouts, bringing more variety to patrols through fast-paced incidents, unpredictable suspects and situations that can develop in different ways.
Version 6.0.0 is the largest Cryptic Callouts update yet, adding 30 new callouts alongside improvements to scene placement, suspect behaviour, vehicle handling, conversations and cleanup.
From armed robberies and kidnappings to motorcycle pursuits, attacks on emergency workers and dangerous vehicle incidents, this update significantly expands the situations you can encounter on patrol.

What’s New in Version 6.0.0?
30 New Callouts
This is the biggest expansion I’ve made to Cryptic Callouts, increasing the pack from 26 to 56 callouts.
The new incidents include armed robberies, kidnappings, attacks on emergency workers, vehicle thefts, violent group incidents and pursuits with additional vehicle behaviour.
Improved Scene Placement
The new callouts use revised placement checks for exterior pedestrian positions, road vehicles and spacing between scene entities.
Vehicle placement searches multiple road positions, with additional clearance for larger vehicles and trailers. Armed ATM Robbery uses existing map ATMs.
Scene Setup Recovery
Placement failures now trigger controlled setup retries, with partial scene cleanup between attempts. If the scene cannot be constructed after three attempts, the callout cancels instead of remaining active with a broken scene.
Unexpected scene errors are logged and end the affected callout.
Improved Suspect and Vehicle Behaviour
This update improves getaway driver assignment, transitions between combat and flight, motorcycle passenger behaviour and foot-pursuit handling when certain suspect vehicles become unavailable.
It also improves vehicle-switch recovery, tractor and trailer alignment, tow vehicle positioning and abduction victim recovery.
Conversations and Dispatch Audio
Relevant participants in the new callouts have scene-specific accounts, with optional NPCAI support and Y-key subtitle conversations.
The 30 new callouts use standard LSPDFR scanner audio, so they do not require additional custom dispatch recordings. Existing callouts retain their custom audio.
Conversations
You can use NPCAI to speak with supported scene participants, or press Y to progress through their account using subtitles.
Subtitle conversations work without NPCAI installed and remain available when NPCAI is enabled. Each press advances one line, allowing you to read at your own pace.
Move within 4.5 metres of an available participant to speak. People actively shooting or sitting inside vehicles cannot be interviewed through this system.
Conversation availability depends on the participant and the current situation. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Requirements
Grand Theft Auto V Legacy
LSPDFR
Rage Plugin Hook
NPCAI is optional. It is only required for NPCAI-powered conversations.
Installation
Extract the release into your main Grand Theft Auto V Legacy directory, following the included folder structure.
The plugin and configuration file belong in:
Grand Theft Auto V Legacy\plugins\LSPDFR\
Preserve the included audio folder structure when installing the custom dispatch recordings.
For detailed installation instructions, visit the Cryptic Mods Documentation.
Configuration and Controls
The configuration file is located at:
Grand Theft Auto V Legacy\plugins\LSPDFR\CrypticCallouts.ini
You can enable or disable individual callouts, adjust spawn distances, configure racer counts and change supported interaction settings.
Default controls:
Y — Start or continue a subtitle conversation
J — Callout-specific dialogue or negotiation
K — Callout-specific commands
H — Clear a resolved callout
End — Manually end the current callout
The available actions depend on the incident. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Known Issues and Reporting
Some players have reported participants spawning inside locked buildings. Version 6.0.0 introduces revised exterior placement checks for the new callouts, but this should not be treated as a confirmed fix for every location across the pack.
If you encounter an inaccessible participant, a crash or unexpected behaviour, please include:
The callout name.
The location.
What happened before the issue occurred.
A screenshot, where useful.
The relevant RagePluginHook log.
These details help me identify the affected scene and investigate the cause.
Development
Cryptic Callouts is a hobby project, and building it continues to be a learning experience.
My aim is to keep expanding the pack with incidents that suit its fast-paced style while improving existing behaviour, addressing reported problems and making scenes more reliable.
Detailed feedback helps me understand how the callouts perform during actual patrols and where further work is needed.

Short Description
AI disclosure
The author has disclosed that AI tools were used in creating the following aspects of this file:
- Description
- Images
- Mod and Mod Content (Substantial)
Cryptic Callouts began as my own project, but AI has played a substantial role in its development. Claude wrote the v3.0.0 rewrite while I was focused on work, and ChatGPT assisted with the v4.0.0 rewrite, NPCAI integration, debugging and documentation. I directed the project, chose which changes to include and tested the gameplay, but I do not want to present the AI-assisted code as entirely hand-written by me.
