ApxRadio UI 1.2.0

(2 reviews)

1 Screenshot

ApxRadio is a functional Motorola APX7000 style radio UI for LSPDFR. It includes a handheld and in-car radio for a nice visual display for dispatch plugins like, GrammarPolice, NexusDispatch, etc. It CAN be used with any dispatch plugin.

Early Access Build v1.2

Features include:

  • Interactive handheld and in-car radio controls

  • Create and customize up to 16 zones or channels.

  • Resize and reposition the radios anywhere on the screen.

  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS toggle buttons

  • Custom activation and deactivation for audible voice prompts

  • GTA time synchronized day and night displays

  • Manual display switching from the in-car radio

  • Animated signal, connection and transmission indicators

  • Customizable push-to-talk keybind that can be sync'd with your dispatch plugin.

  • Power, channel selection and home controls

  • Configurable settings through apxconfig.ini

  • Custom radio sound effects when clicking buttons and turning knobs.

  • Options to hide the radio or unlock the mouse for interaction. Unlock with F9. Hide with -

Press "Left Shift" and "=" to move the radios, and use the config INI file to adjust their size.

ApxRadio is a visual and immersion focused plugin and does not replace your existing dispatch plugin.

Watch the demo here.

Check the Instructions.txt file for more information on setting this plugin up. After installation, you MUST match ApxRadio’s transmit keybind to the transmit keybind used by your primary dispatch plugin if you want the "transmitting" text to appear on your radio.

Requirements:

  1. GTA V Legacy

  2. RAGE Plugin Hook

I tried to make it as "spec" as possible, I do intend on giving the in-car radio have better realism as right now it's just partial. Though if anyone has suggestions to improving please leave them in comments.

v1.2 is out, if you've had the issue of the transmission text not working properly this will fix it.

There's also a few other nice additions to this version like working LED's and more configuration, so check the update log to see what they are.

Next big update will be in a week or two so feel free to give suggestions in comments, I'll see what I can cook up.

What button do I click to turn on the radio, and can I move it?

F9 then click the top right knob to turn it on, I'll add moving it as a feature in the next update.

I put in a request to have it moved to script/plugin so I'll just have to give it a few days probably, mistake on my part.

@Vondale13 @Austin.Tech v1.1 is pending approval but it is published, just give it a few hours. It will allow the radios to be resized through the INI file and repositioned in-game. Follow at the top right it'll notify you guys when it's up.

Yes, it will still work as intended without a dispatch plugin. I will look into making it more spec with proper tones in the future I've just had a hard time finding good clear ones.

May I suggest the ability for maybe 2-3 more channels? I plan to use this for fire morer so and would love to have 2 ops channels, and a fireground channel as well as the dispatch

Would be a good thing to change the 3rd channel to LAPD City, ik u can do it in the INI files but i mean if u already have LASD County might aswell put LAPD City.

But all-in-all its a masterpiece of a plugin and I really thank you for making this plugin.

You need to disable the lspdfr radio in settings scroll down until you see radio where it says c change to None

Add the option to change the radio toggle keybind. Also, it appears the transmit keybind is toggle only, so if you hold the key, the transmit text disappears.

The new version has up to 16, so feel free to add as many as you want.

Okay I'll look into adding an option in the ini for that in the next update. Also it shouldn't be toggle only, another keybind of yours might be interfering. I just reinstalled the plugin and wasn't able to replicate that. If you'd like dm me my acc is on my profile.

Apx is just the brand of radio you can only change the channel names and stuff.

Would it be possible to add the options to change the hotkeys for "free mouse" in a future update?

I've noticed the same issue. When holding down the PTT key via Grammar Police, the transmitting text only appears once.

could you make this a fully working dispatch mod instead of a plugin bc that would be really nice to see especially with the channels and more

I've noticed the same issue. When holding down the PTT key via Grammar Police, the transmitting text only appears once. At least from what I learned in the description, it should sync with the dispatch mod.

I was able to find the solution to the bug (thanks @slightlymelted ) and it will be patched in the next update. There will also be configuration for changing the keybinds to unlock the mouse in that update as well.

Maybe, definitely a future thing. It will however be a separate plugin though will 100% use this UI and will be integrated properly.

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong but it’s not loading up. I tried the plugins and plugins>lspdfr paths and I don’t see anything loading up in the Ragepluginhook.Log

Load the plugin on startup through gtav > lspdfr > lspdfr configurator.exe or just use the console in the F4 menu to "LoadPlugin". It should also just be in plugins not inside lspdfr.

Any chance we'll see more skins like the Motorola ASTRO XTL 5000 for LAPD and the Kenwood Viking VM7000 for CHP?

There is. You can add up to 16.

Maybe. I haven’t really thought about it yet, but for now my goal is improving this one. If it continues to do well, I’ll look into making different skins.
