Realistic Driving NC
Realistic Driving NC transforms GTA V’s traffic system into a fully North Carolina, USA ‑accurate driving environment. NPC vehicles now follow real NC speed limits based on road type, zone detection, and special‑case logic such as school zones and minimum‑speed enforcement. Whether you patrol in the city, county, or on the interstate, traffic finally behaves like real NC motorists.
Overview
Los Santos traffic is notoriously slow and unrealistic—especially for players who want a true North Carolina patrol experience. This mod fixes that by applying actual NC speed laws to NPC driving behavior:
35 mph inside city limits
55 mph outside city limits
65 mph on multi‑lane divided highways
70 mph on interstates and limited‑access highways
25 mph in school zones
Minimum speeds enforced (40 mph in 55 zones, 45 mph in 60+ zones)
Traffic flow more realistic, and far more immersive for NC‑style patrols.

Features
City speed limits — NPCs maintain 35 mph in urban areas unless the zone would realistically be posted differently.
Rural speed limits — Outside city limits, vehicles cruise at 55 mph, matching NC’s statewide default.
Interstate behavior — NPCs reach up to 70 mph on freeways and limited‑access highways.
Divided highway logic — Four‑lane divided roads run at 65 mph for realistic NC highway travel.
School zone enforcement — Vehicles slow to 25 mph when entering a school‑zone radius.
Minimum speed rules — Prevents slow, immersion‑breaking traffic:
40 mph minimum in 55 mph zones
45 mph minimum in 60+ mph zones
Dynamic zone detection — Automatically adjusts speeds based on road type.
Smooth transitions — No sudden braking or unrealistic acceleration.
Optimized performance — Lightweight script with minimal CPU impact.

How It Works
Realistic Driving NC uses a combination of:
Road type detection (FREEWAY, HIGHWAY, CITY, COUNTRYSIDE)
Custom school‑zone radius checks
Divided‑highway identification
Minimum‑speed correction logic
Continuous speed updates every 0.5 seconds
This ensures NPCs always drive at the correct speed for the environment.
