Realistic Law Enforcement Combat Behaviour 1.2

(3 reviews)

4 Screenshots

Hello Everyone, (Please Note that this is my first mod, so if there are any Issues it´s because of the Lack of my Experience)

Information:

Police units now operate according to realistic law enforcement combat principles. Officers prioritize cover, concealment, and positional advantage over aggressive movement and open firefights. Exposure is minimized; blind advances and unnecessary rushing are largely eliminated.

Engagements emphasize containment, controlled fire, and threat management rather than constant suppression. Officers disengage when overexposed, reposition when flanked, and rely on cover-based firing to increase survivability. Fire discipline is improved, resulting in fewer but more deliberate shots instead of sustained, unrealistic gunfire.

Overall, confrontations are slower, more methodical, and tactically grounded, reflecting trained police response rather than military-style assault behavior. To keep the Realism as high as possible, I removed blindfiring.

What's New in Version 1.2

Released

  • Changelog V1.2

  • Officers will now prioritise walking over constant running to keep ther aim steady.

  • If things get risky they will run to get to cover as quick as possible

    Changelog V1.1:

-Improved cover selection for Patrol Officers depending on the Direction they are taking fire from

For example: Officers are taking Heavy fire from the Left Side of their Patrol Car. If there is an Oppurtinity to change Cover, they will choose another Spot behind the Car or any other Object so they don´t get hit.

This sounds good and I am going to download it and try it. I will say though I can be a pretty aggressive officer myself. I have a rather short fuse for any misconduct. I do try to make arrests but hey... this is also still GTA 5 and woe to those who get out of the range of my taser... for I will not run 8 blocks away from my car to arrest a suspect. I call the ambulance a lot lol

😂

This Mod is supposed to give the officers a Surivival instinct. so they refuse to do stuff like "Don´t be a hero ahh"

Is there any possibility for a file compatible with NVE?

Hi @GenSec ,

I honestly don´t know what you mean. This Mod changes the AI Behaviour so it doesn´t affect any Graphics mod.

In theory it shouldn't, but in reality NVE + this causes the game to crash on startup. I have no idea why, but something is messed up.

EDIT: Turns out it always crashes, even without NVE. At first I thought it was the fault of NVE because it was the only thing I installed, but no, even if this is the only mod I install it still crashes the game for whatever reason.

Like the guy above said, even with no other mods installed this seems to crash my game consistently.

I think I found out the reason why this mod crashes on startup even without anything else installed.
It seems that it requires some of RDE's files in order to work. There are probably some definitions in other files that the game can't call because those files aren't there.
I've tested it installing some of RDE files, and my game stopped crashing, but I have no way of knowing which files are actually necessary for this mod to work.
For now I'd suggest adding RDE as a requirement in mod's description, but it would be nice if somebody figured out which files from RDE are needed so it can work without it.

Hi @GenSec

It could actually be possible, but I didn´t think that it is depending on RDE since it changes the "normal" combatbehaviour. But I will Link RDE in optimized for.

Hi @kotymotany666
As mentioned in an earlier comment, this might be because I worked on the Combatbehaviour file that came with RDE. I didn´t think that it would affect the combatbehaviour that much, and I will release a combatbehaviour file 100% Vanilla soon. Unfortunately I don´t have that much time right now, so please be patient.
