Keybindings Removed:

  • Numpad vehicle controls
  • Weapon hotkeys (1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
  • Character switch keybinds (Function keys & Alt)
  • Frontend Pause (P to pause)
  • Recording & Clipping (F1, F2, and some numpad keys)
  • Other numpad controls
  • Radio controls

File includes an automatic OIV installer and uninstaller.

Hey!

You need to have a mods folder installed in OpenIV, I recommend going to update/update.rpf and pressing on Show in "mods" folder or something along the lines of that.

Edit: Also remember to choose Install to "mods" folder when downloading the file, as said in the readme file.

I get the same issue. From the installation log, it seems like you forgot the default.meta file in the content directory.
I'd love to get the mod installed 🙂

Ah, I found the issue. Opening the .oiv file in WinRAR, I can see that OpenIV is trying to install the files into the GTAV/x64 folder, while it should be in GTAV/update/update.rpf/x64 folder. Seems like you created the .oiv file incorrectly @Danielzzz0

I just submitted a manual installer. I figured out the problem, so I'm gonna fix it asap. My first time making an OIV installer 😅
When I was testing it, it was working just fine, but I accidentally changed something just before releasing it.

Manual installer just got accepted, use that for now! 😁

New Automatic and Manual installers now updated! Both should be working just fine!

Very intersting! Will give this a try and a look. Will give it a mention in my next video. Intesting to see if you can change things such as the whole rockstar recorder keybind as I use that would be intresting to keep that working instead of removing it!

I can definitely try to make that!

I've noticed one thing already, when attempting to navigate through the regular LSPDFR Menu using the arrow keys, I am unable to do it due to the arrow keys (Cellphone) being taken out.

Edit: Also noticing the Weapon Accessory Keybind has been removed (Flashlights)

I noticed the weapon accessory being removed on accident, I'm gonna re-add both of those asap.

Edit: Had no idea the LSPDFR menus used cellphone keys 😭

Edit 2: The issues has now been fixed, and new version has been approved.

I downloaded this, and now I can’t access the m key interaction menu.

Yes, that's on purpose. I made this mod for myself ages ago, and I never use it so I deleted it so I can free up the M key. If you want, I can help you add it yourself.

First, thank you for this. I made my own personal OIV installer for some controller buttons a while back and never knew where to go to also remove some KB keys. You pointed me right where I need to look 👍 I did run into an issue though, I'm hoping you might be able to help.

I tried to remove 4 KB Keys: Weapon Next In Vehicle - And the 3 Recording "F" keys.
The weapon one worked perfectly, however my recording keys still work. I though it might be a mistake on my part, so I restored the original meta file, then installed your OIV installer. Even after that, my recording keys still work.

Here is where the hang up is I believe. I changed my recording keys a while back to be F10, F11 and F12. I'm just not sure where to fix that. Any ideas?

You can go into the default.meta file manually, and look for the keybindings you want remove, then remove that keybinding from
all the way to
.

If it still doesn't work, there might be another file overwriting that one.

If you want to add the interaction menu, add this inbetween one of they keybindings. Make sure it's inbetween
and

            INPUT_INTERACTION_MENU
            IOMS_KEYBOARD
            <Parameters>

KEY_M

            </Parameters>

Sorry, yeah I should've mentioned that. I went into my own default.meta file (at the same location listed in the assembly.xml) and removed the keys I wanted to remove. I did note that the recording keys were still listed as the default, not what I had changed them to while in game a while back. I'm sure it's another file somewhere, but had no luck finding it.

Edit: I just looked again and there is a default.ymt file @ update\update.rpf\x64\data - but it wont let me view that file.

Edit 2: I went ahead and restored all keys to default while in game, and then after that everything worked as expected.

Sorry, I completely forgot to reply. After some play sessions I realized I don't need it either lol. Still thank you for uploading this, I very much needed this to remove all the unnecessary keybinds.

hey, nice mod btw! i was wondering if you could help me in to add the key for the radio wheel (the one you activate with q)? because i know it was on purpose because the keys to change of stations were useless but now i also can't turn off the radio nor change of station, so it becomes a bit annoying. thanks

By the way you can use <,.> to change radio stations and also switch to radio off.
