Resource Adjuster 1.0.0

(33 reviews)

2 Screenshots

A collection of patches (some of which are used by FiveM) to improve stability, reduce texture loss and actually use your system's available resources as much as possible.

Please note that this script is designed for high end systems with 8GB or more of GPU memory and more than 8GB of system memory available to be used solely by the game, although this is configurable via the included INI file.

Requirements

  • An ASI loader like the one included with ScriptHookV "dinput8.dll".

Installation
Place "GTAV.ResourceAdjuster.asi" & "ResourceAdjuster.ini" into your Grand Theft Auto V folder.

Changelog
1.0

  • Initial release.

I set mine ini to 10000, and no change in fps (70fps w/NVE), I have a 3090 ti with i9 12th 12900k cpu with 32gb of ram at 6200 mhz

Hell yeah brother, glad its working nicely for you. I'm looking into increasing LOD ranges for higher end machines as well, what sort of FPS do you tend to sit around with your setup?

Playing normally about 60 fps.

You're an absolute legend.

I have every ai vehicle replaced, preload set to true, a mixture of 5 graphics mods, multiple large mad mods, fr running, about 200 add-on cars with 8k liverys and gameconfig with 3x traffic.

rtx2080, set the ini to 2200.

No texture loss.

So I saw your comment and I decided to see what I could do with my game. I am on a HP laptop with an I5 and a mid range graphics card for gaming. I turned all my graphics to the highest it will go and turned my preload back on. I still run smooth as butter. This script is the best thing to come to this game in a long time!

I have been waiting for someone to make something like the extended texture settings fivem has for a Long time. Ive been having to play on "normal" texture settings for months due to texture loss with NVE, now I can finally play on max texture settings with LSPDFR. My game looks so damn good now

Finally. I can play on ultra settings because GTA 5 wasn't using all available resources before.

Hi, I recently installed it, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work properly for me.

First, everything works without problems and I really have no texture loss at all. However, after about an hour, the game crashes with this message "ERR_MEM_EMBEDDEDALLOC_ALLOC"

"No more game memory. Please reboot and restart the game."

Also, I already have this setting in the .ini "additionalGPUMemory=12000" which corresponds to my graphics card, a RTX 3080 12 GB.

You really shouldn't set additional GPU memory that high as a 12GB card could probably only make use of an additional 3 or 4GB depending on in game settings. Do you also run a heap adjuster and decent gameconfig?

Alright, good to know! I also already installed a decent gameconfig, Heap Limit Adjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster.

oh my god, 4k vehicle skins in very high graphic setting, and still i have zero texture loss with 'additionalGPUMemory=3900'. No suttering neither.

I have waited for this kind of script for a long time. Thanks and hope that you will make other awesome stuff in the future too, keep it up!

So while everything works, I am noticing something a little weird. Birds and other ambient animals seem to die when I get near them. I know some of what this script does is similar to what fivem does, and fivem (from what I remember) used to have an issue with birds falling out of the sky or dying in general, so im thinking it might be related to this script. I also notice if I play base GTA SP and get the cops on me, they seem to die if they get too close to me as well. Not completely sure if its caused by this script but its the only real change ive made to my game recently.

I doubt it would be this script and I'm pretty sure the FiveM issue was just client sync issues, what are your specs anyway and have you tested just removing this script?

I have a usual of 40 fps. I say again, I uninstalled this mod and my fps was fixed. It wasnt any other mod. I installed this mod, I lose 20 fps. I install it and I regain the 20 fps

They aren't talking about FPS and as it is right now the script runs once on game boot and adjusts usuable memory limits and pools then essentially closes so it's impossible for it to drop FPS by itself, you would have to have wrong required specs/config imho. Also this isn't made to boost framerates either in case there was any confusion.

How does the additionalGPUMemory setting work exactly?

Is it 8GB + whatever I input i.e. If I set it to 3814, then it'll use 12GB of my GPU memory? Or will it only use 4GB of my GPU memory if set to 3814?

It's just straight up additional GPU memory that can be used by the game, if you set it as 1GB then 1GB will be made available on top of the previous total. If you open the log file generated when it runs you can see the actual total before and after the patch.

Behind the scenes and depending on your in-game settings R* set a max value that game assets can take up, which is the biggest cause of texture loss when you add in modded vehicles for example since you are changing what R* intended.

it was indeed something else, Menyoo decided to randomly change a setting that caused it.

I mean god damn what a mod. Prior to installing this, I would suffer from both bad FPS loss and eventual texture loss after an hour of playing LSPDFR (if not even less). I also could never have more than a handful of units out without accelerating the texture loss.

Now, with this mod, I have experienced 0 texture loss after calling in a ton of units, all with unique EUP configs + custom Add-On ELS vehicles. Additionally, I have been able to greatly improve my games graphics + ReShade without concerns about losing FPS or textures. My FPS goes down to about 40 in the peak worst spots in the map (Mission Row, Strawberry, Downtown Vinewood) but now, without ever seeing texture loss AND with "Very High" graphics on mostly everything except water and grass. This mod is just incredible.

For those who might be wondering or digging in the comments, I am running this mod on an older build of GTA (2699.16) + LSPDFR (because I'm a paranoid schizo who doesn't wanna relive my last disaster when updating GTA broke everything lmao) and this mod works fine. I got a CTD the first two times but after I turned the additional MiB setting to 0, and left the WIP setting on, my game booted up.

First of all, a huge thank you to you!!!

It's really incredible; but: since I installed your mod, there was not a single time even a hint of texture loss or similar performance losses.

Very awesome mod and mega helpful. Thank you ♥

Nah should be compatible with all mods unless they deliberately target the same changes incorrectly. Also if you have more than 8GB on your GPU you can just use the default settings or tweak it however in the included ini under additional vram.
