TrunkControl is a RPH plugin which let's you open your trunk via one simple button click. It’s mainly for RP purposes although some sort of menu functionality will be added in the future.

How to install TrunkControl

Download the .rar and extract it via WinRAR or 7-Zip.
Drag and drop the Plugins folder into your GTA-V main directory.
Drag and drop the RageNativeUI.dll into your GTA-V main directory.

How to load TrunkControl

There are two ways of how you can load the plugin:

Use "LoadPlugin TrunkControl" in the RPH console.
Load the plugin on startup (RPH settings)

Requirements

A legal copy of Grand Theft Auto V.
RagePluginHook 1.90 or higher which you can download here (You most likely already have it as it's a prerequisite for LSPDFR).
RageNativeUI 1.9.1 (included in this download).

Features

TrunkControl let's you open your latest vehicles trunk with one click (default T).
You have to be within range of your trunk to be able to open it.
The key is fully customisable and also supports controllers.
RageNativeUI menu to retrieve additional equipment (default F5).
Integrated version checker which always tells you if you are on the latest version or if you need to update the plugin. You can still play on an outdated version though I wouldn't recommend it (Massive thanks to @sEbi3 for open sourcing UnitedCallouts).
[NEW] Integrated dependency checker which tells you if you are running the latest required version of RAGENativeUI. Thanks to @Rich for helping with that.
[NEW] Enhanced logging to pinpoint issues more precisely.
[NEW] Edit the range your trunk is detected by the plugin.

How to customise the key

You can simply change the key to open your trunk via the plugins .ini file (Plugins/TrunkControl/TrunkControl.ini). After changing the key (or button), you don't need to reload the entire plugin to use the new key. Entering the command "ReloadTrunkControlConfig" in the RagePluginHook reloads the config file.

Future development

With gaining more and more knowledge about RAGE's API and C# I will always give my best to implement more features and update the plugin.

You can only open your trunk while your car is standing still. Trying to open it while going 60 miles an hour down the highways of Los Santos will not be possible.
Included RageNativeUI v1.8.2 in the download (MIT license can be found in the ReadMe.tx).
Added controller support for the menu (per default none is set).

I have an idea:
Why not make it possible to access all these features from outside the car? That would be a big help concerning roleplay for me personally.

Could you maybe add a hotkey to open the closest door to the player? there have been scripts to do it but it might be a nice feature

I‘ll see what I can do about that. It’s main purpose is working on the trunk - hence the name - but I’m not totally against expanding it to more aspects.

Is there a way to change the proximity of when you press T for the trunk to open? I'd ideally like it to be only when I'm standing right next to the car. At the moment I press Ctrl+T to grab a ped (in LSPDFR) and my ped walks all the way from the sidewalk to open the trunk.

You can do this now in the new version I just uploaded. @Charlie686 was kind enough to test it and said you're probably looking for a range of 3 instead of 5 (default value). Play around with it a little and let me know how it works for you :).

All the core features are listed in the plugin description. Its intended for players who like to roleplay while they are on duty. For example when using the police tape plugin you just pull it out of your pocket. With my plugin you could act as if it’s in your trunk and grab it from there. It can also serve as a hotkey as the binding is fully customisable in the .ini. I hope this clears it up for you.

So like I think this mod just broke my game I downloaded it and installed it using the given ways and it crashed my game on start up i deleted the files and my game still crashes its never crashed before this mod only after so???

I find it hard to believe a plugin would cause your game to crash on startup, especially after you removed it 😁

Please open a topic in the support section of our website if you are having issues after installing stuff to your game.
