[ELS] 2014 LAPD Dodge Charger 1.2.1

(13 reviews)

11 Screenshots

Features

- Updated base model with improved exterior, completely remapped and retextured interior, and heavily optimized LODs.

- Replicates real LAPD lighting patterns.

- Digital speed display in the instrument cluster.

- Breaking glass, working dials, pushbar collision, and bullet resistant windshield.

- ELS Takedown with spotlight.

- Authentic LAPD livery.

- Accurate and beautiful environmental lighting with each light module featuring its own corona.

Optional Equipment

- Pushbar (extra 10)

- LoJack system (extra 12)

PLEASE NOTE that this is a ELS/non-ELS hybrid vehicle which means it requires custom carcols/carvariations for the lights to work properly. For ease of installation I've provided a DLC pack for replacing the police2 slot. The included vehicles.meta is also mandatory install for correct dashboard and extra spawning behavior.

You're welcome to follow my WIP gallery where I'll be posting updates as I work on the vehicle.

That should be it. Hope you guys enjoy the car as much as I did making it!

Do you plan to make a LSPD texture for this vehicle?

No but this uses the same template as Thehurk's base, so there should be a ton of textures already made for it.

Congratulations on TRENDING FILES place. 1 and thanks for this amazing update 🙂 You've earned it!

Thank you! The next update should bring the file size down even further as I am still not fully happy about it.

You really stuck to it 🙂 Now it's at 14,2MB and both Liverys on 2K you get 13,9MB. GREAT JOB!

Create your own 🙂 I have certainly downloaded more than 10 Liverys and found none, which would have fit directly.

Maybe because I do want one and I like to make cars that I use myself. No promises, though.

@Walters opinions?

Would you be interested in my opinion? But you wouldn't like it^^ I had deleted the charger from Walter's but IMMEDIATELY and replaced it against @KLE0 I also recently traded his CVPI (14,5MB) for a much better vehicle. If you are interested, I will give you the link.

Hey, I've been using this vehicle frequently and noticed that the white paint is a darker shade of white than the rest of my LAPD vehicles. How do I change it so that the car always spawns with a pure white color?

This charger is actually pretty sweet. I have 3 2014 LAPD chargers in my game, this one has to be my favorite for sure.

What visual mods do you have? Some of them are known to change the stock white paint colors to a darker shade (presumably to prevent them being so blinding on sunny weathers).

In case you haven't noticed, this vehicle uses the stock primary paint for the body and secondary paint for the doors and roof. The livery is just decals with a transparent background. I like to do this whenever possible, since it's more accurate… You can check/change paint colors with a trainer but I believe the secondary paint is already set to the "pure white" color.

If you don't want to mess with paint colors, an easy fix is to change the livery so they are fully opaque, overriding the vehicle paint colors.

I'm using NVE, so that most likely explains why. Anyways, I'll mess around and see what I can do to overcome my problem. Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it.

Happy to help. I took a look at NVE files and indeed, they changed the color for paint 134 Pure White from white to 0xFFB7B7B7, which is a gray color. The value is defined in the main carcols.ymt but it might be tricky to modify since it looks like the NVE team corrupted the file on purpose. You might just want to use an opaque livery instead. Try the one I attached.

It comes as a replace for police2. DLC pack doesn't have to be add-on. Though, you can always make your own add-on pack.

It's indeed a replace. Please modify your comment so it's not misleading to others.

Of course not, make sure you follow the instructions. Also they appear all white in OpenIV because OpenIV doesn't apply the paint correctly.

I did some detailed comparisons, and the size of the wheels are actually pretty accurate. See below:

Here you can see my car layered on top of a real world photo, where the wheel well and body lines match. Notice in the photo the wheels are crooked to the right slightly, but otherwise the scale looks correct.

The reference image can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/navymailman/14032610462/

If you mean the rim is too big and not the tire, notice the highlighted area below are also part of the rim but can often look like part of the tire depending on the lighting and dirt etc. It's similar in game, though if the rim is shiny (no dirt) it may appear bigger. The scale should be fine.

I mean rear wheels feel bigger than real. Maybe it because I have wrong handling in my game

Ah I see, it does look like the car sits just a tad bit too low to the ground. I'll see what I can do about it.
