ELS-IV V8.5x is the latest update to one of the most popular mods ever created for a GTA title - enhancing all forms of emergency lighting in GTA IV.

NOTES
− ELS is a ".ASI" script mod.
− ELS will only work correctly when used with ELS-enabled vehicles.
− ELS V8 uses new powerful features made possible by the AdvancedHook Library System, created by LMS--read his blog article about it here.

IMPORTANT
− Please consult the ELS User Guide and other documentation provided prior to use.
− ELS V8.5 VCFs and configuration files are compatible with ELS V8.51, and no adjustments are required.
− ELS V8.0 VCFs are compatible with ELS V8.5, however, in order to take advantage of some new features, slight adjustments are required.
− ELS V7.0 vehicle configuration files (VCFs) are not completely compatible with ELS V8.5. Aconversion guide is provided in the documentation.
− Always keep your AdvancedHook.dll up to date. If you already have a more recent version of the file installed, do not replace it with the one contained in the ELS download.
− You may need to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redist. Package (found here).
− You may need to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redist. for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 (found here).
− You may need to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redist. for Visual Studio 2013 (found here).

KNOWN ISSUES
− (The following issues have been cataloged during testing and are under watch. Updates will be made once permanent solutions are discovered.)
− The ELS lights on AI vehicles may sometimes be slow to turn off; increasing the values of the ClearRandAiExtrasXX options may help mitigate this issue.
− In multiplayer, the session host may be unable to see the ELS lights of other players' vehicles past a certain distance.
− In multiplayer, there is an issue where the user will hear a random ELS "beep" sound and this will be followed by a crash.
− In multipalyer, repairing the vehicle may cause the user's ELS lights to de-synchronize; setting the system to LSTG3 and back to 0 once or twice should correct this issue.

hey guys I just want to ask something when I install els I start the game and when I get a normal cop car the light bar disappears and when I turn the lights on the light bar flashes it so annoying plz help

I have been having a problem with ELS 8.x

I have GTAIV 1.0.7.0
LCPDFR 1.1
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

and was using ELS 6, but upgraded to ELS 8.5.

I replaced all necessary files, attempt to start the game and then get this: els.asi is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media I understand that this error is a bad image error according to Microsoft.

This is what I have tried to fix the problem:

- Updated, repaired or reinstalled all dependencies (C++, .net) I understand there is three that ELS uses which were reinstalled.
- Tried ELS 8, no difference.
- ran sfc scan, no errors found

Here's the funny thing though if this may help:
Trying to go back to ELS6 (I backed up ELS6 files before upgrading) I will still get this error, BUT the game will run, ELS will work no issues, try ELS8 or 8.5, same error, but game will CTD at the loading screen where it says for example "Loading the Cousins Belek"

Any thoughts?

Its suppose to work like that. J just actives the lights and then you hit 1-4 for the siren. I believe there is also a way to have it to where lights and siren come on when hitting J, but I don't think its default that way.

I realized I can't launch GFWL for some reason. it says it doesn't work with windows 10

yea i had that same problem, apparently the sign in assistant doesn't work with Windows 10 basically its not even supported at all, unsure about Win 8 or 8.1 but i reverted back to Windows 7 cause of the OS's themselves not supporting any games, and even tho I use GFWL for a lot of games including this, another example is Batman and GFWL wont even pop or anything. I honestly think they as in Microsoft should update the assistant so its supports up to Windows 10, nice OS needs more updates and software updates though in my own opinion.
