Ragify - A Spotify Plugin for GTA V

THE ONLY IMPORTANT PART OF THE SCREENSHOTS IS THE SPOTIFY WIDGET AND STATUS SUBTITLES, YOU CAN IGNORE THE REST IN THE SCREENSHOTS.

 

Ragify is a plugin for GTA V that seeks to encourage and improve the usage of Spotify from GTA V.

It allows for simple command such as play, pause, and switching tracks.

 

Ragify also displays the current track, and it's progress so you can anticipate that bass drop!

 

Ragify can easily be installed by unzipping all files into the GTA V installation directory. Please follow the instructions in README.txt.

 

Controls

All of these controls require the CTRL key to be pressed.

 

Numpad 0 - Play / Pause

Numpad 1 - Previous track

Numpad 2 - Volume down

Numpad 3  - Next track

Numpad 5 - Volume up

Numpad 8 - Hide display - enables subtitle track information
 

Frequently asked questions and information

Does Spotify have to be running for this to work?

Yes, this plugin can only control Spotify if it is already running.

 

Does this plugin work with Spotify Free?

Yes, since version 1.2.1 Spotify Free is also supported.

 

Can I disable the check for updates?

No, this is however a high priority for me. The notification will also dissapear after two minutes.

 

Can I modify the keys used to control this plugin?

Yes, you may edit Ragify.ini in your Plugins folder to change key mappings.

Known bugs / issues

- Typo in Readme.txt - Numpad 3 skips to next song, not Numpad 2 Fixed as of 05-02-2017

- The plugin may crash when an advertisement plays in Spotify Free. (Thanks to riquebr for reporting this bug) Fixed as of 05-02-2017

- Unable to skip to the next track when Spotify is in Shuffle mode. (Thanks to riquebr for reporting this bug)

 

Please do note that not having an internet connection while starting this plugin may cause a false update notification. This plugin does not send any data from or towards your computer, the only thing it needs an internet connection for is checking the version through this url.

Are we able to rebind keys? I use a compact layout keyboard ( there is no numpad) :/

Oof, that's something I did not quite think through, it is on my high priority list of updates tho! So stay tuned for an update somewhere this week.

    Works fine! still testing , but for now there is no crash ( game or spotify)

     

    Just one thing ( it's not plugin breaker nor that important): I cant skip foward the music when the playlist on spotify is on shuffle . But works flawlessly  without the shuffle mode.

    Am I the only one that has noticed the third screen shot with "Doe maar - Belle Helene"? What a oldschool dutch song. I just downloaded because of this... x)

    Thanks for reporting back! I've just uploaded a new version that should fix the crashes with advertisements, I don't have Spotify Free myself, so if you still encounter crashes then let me know.

    Yes, this plugin searches for your locally running Spotify and controls / fetches track and playlist data from it.

    That depends on the tracks that you're playing and if the artist / publisher minds that you play their music, I don't know about Twitch, but I myself have not had any problems.

    Buttons aren't working. NumLock is on but can't use the buttons. The progress bar, song name, and artist are all visible in the bottom right though.

    You have to press CTRL and the numpad key at the same time for them to work.

    Unless it's a "No Copyright Music" track, you will get hit with a copyright claim.  Even if it is gameplay and you're talking, you'll get claimed. Twitch is the same way, though with Twitch your VOD will be muted.

    All of the features of this mod are already supported by windows. It shows the current track on a pop up screen and you can control volume/next track etc. via button press. There is no reason to use this mod for that matter.

    I made this mod because my keyboard at the time did not have any media keys whatsoever, and disliked having to alt-tab or use my phone to switch tracks. This can be very handy for people that don't have media keys or Spotify Premium.

    Started spotify, copied all files to root folder of GTA and started GTA, but i can't make it work :( i just got into a car, the radio is turned off and i'm pushing CTRL+0, what am i doing wrong?

    Playing online with any mods can get you either a warning, temp ban, or a perm ban from GTA Online.

    Is this mod still being worked on? I have it installed, but I'm not getting anything popping up when I load in. Holding CTRL + any of the stated numpad keys does nothing.

    Hey there @riekelt Is there still updates for use of this plugin? I can;'t seem to get it to work and would love to play my music....... I have Spotify turned on and nothing is showing up. Are you still gonna update this plugin by any chance?
