BetterDispatchAudio 2.2

(39 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Are you tired of hearing "IN, UHHHHHH"? Tired of "DIS BOBCAT 4 EN ROUUUTEE!!!"? So was I. So I fixed that. Better Dispatch Audio (B.D.A.) includes completely new AI Responding Audio (from NFS Most Wanted). Calling for backup (and Helicopter Support) will trigger this. Ending a callout from Albo's "Assorted Callouts" or "Traffic Policer" and finishing up with "BetterEMS" will also trigger new audio, changing "We are Code 4, no further units required" to "All Units you can clear this call, return to patrol". Pursuits are much more immersive. This has been a several weeks long process, with restless nights, and my 1'st mod. I'm happy to release it here for the community. Please let me know what you think of it, and enjoy.

Works with...

LPCallouts

PoliceSmartRadio

HeroCop

AssortedCallouts

TrafficPolicer

AgencyCallouts

BetterEMS

CodeRedCallouts

ArrestWarrantCallouts

PeterUCallouts

ArrestManager

VocalDispatch

Tacco's Highway Callouts

OJ's Plugins

Streetname Addon (All streets)

Standard Dispatch version works with just about any callout pack.

Installation : Simply drag and drop the provided folders to their designated locations. A ReadMe.txt has been provided for your convenience.

A special thanks to mikegolden Games and Gallonman20 on Youtube, for taking interest in this mod, and uploading videos about it. Please check out their channels, as they both do fantastic LSPDFR related Content, plus more :woot:

*Disclaimer* Audio used in these videos is outdated by about a year. These sounds were from the very beginning stages, and the mod is much more cleaned up these days.

What's New in Version 2.2

Released

2.2

If you don't like the Custom Dispatcher's voice, please download the "Standard Dispatch" version. Yes, I brought it back

I've updated this mod, to keep up with all recently released callout packs (including Tacco's Highway callouts released recently, honestly perfect timing bud)

Callout pack not compatible? Link me to it, and I'll see about adding that in. I won't add it if it's no longer a supported plugin however (meaning, incredibly outdated and buggy). The callouts I have now, I have personally verified that they are working properly on the latest RPH and version of GTA.

I've just downloaded this and it's awesome! However, when reading out vehicle license plates it seems the letters are wayyy louder than numbers, so the numbers are normal volume but when it comes to letters, it's extremely loud, any work around?

Sadly no. It has to do with the way that the police radio mod is coded. It doesn't play nice with custom audio.

Yes I know. Sadly, I've essentially run out of quality audio. If the LSPDFR audio files were structured in a different way, then I could do some cool stuff with this (I.E. making specific officers have specific audio etc.). But, this is where we are. My ultimate goal with this mod was, is, and always will be, to inspire people who are better at this than me to come up with their own ideas and really make something that blows my mod out of the water. That's the goal. I believe I stated this before, but just in case I'll say it again. For the record, I'm not a Credit Hungry guy. I don't care what people use, I just want the community to be creative and have fun. But something to look forward to is this mod here that I'll link. I see promising stuff. Right now, I have it installed, but replaced the current Officer Audio with my own from this mod. Give it a try and show some love and support to @Nameless New Guy! (use the default audio folder that they provide)

Just thought I'd pop in and mention that there is an update of sorts coming. Should be soon (ish). It will be for the Dispatcher specifically, turning it into a Male Dispatcher courtesy of some Voice Acting! Stay tuned.

Hey so i just downloaded the custom file, the plate checker etc all works but when im in a pursuit or requesting back up i dont hear any of the cool responses or voices that are in the videos above 😞 i was reading the comments, if i choose the normal one will it work or is there anything else i can do to get those custom voices, for instance when you request back up, theres a realistic voice that comes over the radio in the videos that says they are responding, thats what i need to get!!

Well this is going to depend on the mods you have. Specifically the Callout Packs. As a rule of thumb, ALWAYS install B.D.A. again over any callout audio. If you're using "Ultimate Backup", I notice that sometimes no backup responding audio plays, and sometimes it does. So while I have Ultimate Backup and LOVE it, I only use it for non-pursuit backup, while using LSPDFR's backup for pursuits.

Also, double check that you have the files installed. The backup audio is from "s_f_y_cop_01 all the way down to s_m_y_cop_01". All of those folders are the backup units and Helicopter audio. Check it by playing the file, should be called something like "Units_Responding". Some have 2 of these files, some have 4 or more.

Slight update as far as a release time goes for the new dispatcher... We had no idea that the Car Model folder was about the same size as the Streets folder (if using the streets mod). So it's looking like it'll be about another month on top of what was already expected. Sadly, July or August are looking likely. He can only record in his free time (which isn't much).

Doesn't look too bad. I can ask him if he'll do it. Currently, we're just trying to get the initial LSPDFR audio done which is taking much longer than either of us anticipated. Once that is done, I'll probably do a quick release of that. Then see if he's willing to start messing with callout packs. People might not even like his voiceover so we need to get a feel for that as well prior to starting another project. Keep in mind he's doing all of this for free, so we'll see.

Hmm... I'd imagine it should, provided you're using the Standard Dispatcher version, and not the Custom Dispatcher. I'll have to make note of Grammar Police and see if the guy doing the new voices is willing to add it to the list.

I'm sorry to mention that the Voice Actor that was working with me (my nephew) has lost interest in the project. I can't blame him, it was certainly more than either of us bargained for lol.

@10 40 Hedda Well I used Audacity personally. Simply put, don't cut the audio off too early. I leave a few milliseconds at the beginning, and the end of the audio file. If it starts too early, or cuts too early, it will make a loud CLICK lol.

why his voice sound so good you should update this

I'm sorry. I wanted to and still want to. But at the end of the day this is where we are. As stated before, my goal with this always has been and always will be that someone will take what I did here, and make something even better out of it! I'm not a "Credit Hungry" guy, I don't care about that stuff. But that having been said @Requies did a significant amount of work on this mod too, so if you or anyone else wants to rip this mod, please ask her first. But from my end I don't care. I just want people to have fun!

And how did you edit the language files?
Whether a long or a short end, unfortunately it always "knicks"

Not sure what would be needed, its not really a plugin/script, just an audio replacement. If you mean support for more plugins, most use their own audio files and they can be replaced with copies of the audio included with this download. If you would like help with that, just hit me up and I'll help the best I can.

I just installed the custom dispatcher and then later the standard dispatcher and none of them seems working with Grammar Police. I keep hearing the same standard dispatch/units voices.

Edit: It looks like that the instructions in the readme file are different from this video

Following that video I have been able to install the custom dispatcher and I can now hear the new sound. Dispatch it's a mix of 80/20 between new voice and old voice
