BetterDispatchAudio 2.2

(39 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Are you tired of hearing "IN, UHHHHHH"? Tired of "DIS BOBCAT 4 EN ROUUUTEE!!!"? So was I. So I fixed that. Better Dispatch Audio (B.D.A.) includes completely new AI Responding Audio (from NFS Most Wanted). Calling for backup (and Helicopter Support) will trigger this. Ending a callout from Albo's "Assorted Callouts" or "Traffic Policer" and finishing up with "BetterEMS" will also trigger new audio, changing "We are Code 4, no further units required" to "All Units you can clear this call, return to patrol". Pursuits are much more immersive. This has been a several weeks long process, with restless nights, and my 1'st mod. I'm happy to release it here for the community. Please let me know what you think of it, and enjoy.

Works with...

LPCallouts

PoliceSmartRadio

HeroCop

AssortedCallouts

TrafficPolicer

AgencyCallouts

BetterEMS

CodeRedCallouts

ArrestWarrantCallouts

PeterUCallouts

ArrestManager

VocalDispatch

Tacco's Highway Callouts

OJ's Plugins

Streetname Addon (All streets)

Standard Dispatch version works with just about any callout pack.

Installation : Simply drag and drop the provided folders to their designated locations. A ReadMe.txt has been provided for your convenience.

A special thanks to mikegolden Games and Gallonman20 on Youtube, for taking interest in this mod, and uploading videos about it. Please check out their channels, as they both do fantastic LSPDFR related Content, plus more :woot:

*Disclaimer* Audio used in these videos is outdated by about a year. These sounds were from the very beginning stages, and the mod is much more cleaned up these days.

What's New in Version 2.2

Released

2.2

If you don't like the Custom Dispatcher's voice, please download the "Standard Dispatch" version. Yes, I brought it back

I've updated this mod, to keep up with all recently released callout packs (including Tacco's Highway callouts released recently, honestly perfect timing bud)

Callout pack not compatible? Link me to it, and I'll see about adding that in. I won't add it if it's no longer a supported plugin however (meaning, incredibly outdated and buggy). The callouts I have now, I have personally verified that they are working properly on the latest RPH and version of GTA.

5 Stars for this mod, it is absolutely excellent! It really adds up  the immersion. Would recommend this without hesitation.

One questions though, is it normal that the original code 4 speech mixed up with your 'all units you can clear this call, return to patrol'? Like the speech started with your version all units you can clear this call, return to patrol, and then followed by the original we are code 4 or no further units required.

That's one of the plugins doing that (I cannot remember which one) though I do remember exactly why I left it. That plugin uses the "We are Code 4" audio in several other areas, and muting the audio (as I did with some plugins) would cause long blank pauses. For the time being, I cannot fix this issue. But I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! Thanks for the feedback.

I downloaded this file and i'm trying to open it with a program called "RAR File Open Knife - Free Opener" and i continue to get a extraction failed message. It says "a rar archive could not be decompressed entirely." Is there a particular program that is better recommended for opening RAR files?

Yes, I personally use 7Zip. Though I hear WinRar also works.

Thanks, i just came across WinRar and it got pretty good reviews. Even though its not free i decided to spend the money and experiment with that. Hopefully it works out better then what ive been using. Thanks for the feedback.

Anytime... But WinRar should always be free. They'll tell you it's not, and that there's a trial period. It never ends. They just keep asking you to renew. Any purchase you make with WinRar is merely a donation to them. I got tired of the ads, so I switched to 7Zip for a free service without ads. (Working on Windows 10)

Is this issue still happening? I know LSPDFR was acting up for a little while there. If issue persists, I can try an alternate DL path.

Hey yeah I'm still getting the issue. The thing is, my default LSPDFR audio I downloaded like a year ago used to work, I reinstalled LSPDFR completely, however I checked the audio in it and now it won't work either? So it must be on my end, but I don't understand whats happening? I recently got a new headset a bit before Christmas, and that might have played around a bit with my computer audio? I'm also having issues with a few other games, but I seem to be able to fix them

Ah, well I'm honsetly sorry to hear that. I really wish I had a solution in mind, but sadly I do not. In any case, good luck, and with any luck, happy gaming

Could you maybe contact me so you could perhaps help me out getting started.

I would like to hear how you did it :).

Roger that. As far as how, initially I took the audio from YouTube videos of NFS Most Wanted (2005). But when Requies came into the picture, she had the audio from the game still on her Hard Drive. So she sent me those files, and we collaborated to make what is now B.D.A.

When it comes to doing the mod in Dutch, I honestly don't know how, unless you can find audio off of a video perhaps, and in that case I'll gladly help you out. Grab some audio, shoot me a message and I'll assist

Hmm... I'm not sure what could be causing that. I just checked the download myself, and all seems well. My only suggestion is to try again.

@stevenchuh If you're asking when I'll update the Mod.... My answer is as soon as the new "Police Radio" Mod is released

@Steele1925 Hi! Love this mod. One small issue though: my taser and ALPR+ active/deactive sounds are muted when I install. Were this removed to accommodate a large file size or is this something on my end? Thanks for the great work nonetheless!

Nevermind! Totally my mistake, it was due to bad pistol audio replacement. Thank you!!

I'm curious how you stumbled on these files.  I shared the audio files from NFS with @turbofandude last year.  I had edited all the files into audio clips and posted the result  on my youtube.  I had wanted to do exactly this, but unfortunately because I don't have coding skills, nothing much came of my idea.  I'm guess Turbo shared the files with you?  At any rate, it was a lot of work for me to do all of that, and I'm just stumbling on to this now.  I'm glad someone did it!  Please give me credit for making the audio clips though.  It took a full week to clip them into usable bits.  I have all the audio clip files in a folder sorted and categorized.  There are over 1,545 audio clips from NFS.  I don't know who sent them to you or if they are even the ones I made (though I highly suspect they are)  If these aren't the files you have already, I'll gladly pass them your way.

@nauttdog I didn't stumble upon these. I worked my ass off to make it happen. Using YouTube clips from NFS Most Wanted chases, and Audacity, and many months of hard work slaving in front of a screen. I was then thankfully helped by Requies, to speed up the process. She still has the game files on her computer. So together, we chose the best audio possible, and used that. Then came the long hours of pitch adjustment. I'd appreciate if you didn't insult me with false accusations, and downplaying just how much this mod has taken out of both myself and Requies. I will NOT give you credit, for work you did NOT do. You never helped us, and your "work" was never used by us. I gave credit to ALL who were helpful along the way. Your name is not in there. The difference between you and I is... I do not require credit. I never asked for it, nor will I. I made this mod for the enjoyment of the community. Folks are more than welcome to use anything that I have. No credit needed. You on the other hand would rather claim that you personally own the rights to Audio made by EA. I'm sure EA's lawyers would love to tell you otherwise ha ha. Honestly kid, have a nice day.

I'm not downplaying anything.  In fact I said it is awesome you were able to complete the work.  I'm also pretty sure I asked you several times if Turbo sent them to you and I also stated I wasn't sure if they were the same ones. I also said if they aren't the same files I have 1500 clips I'd happily share with you.  As you can see I linked the video above which was posted privately more than 4 months before you released your mod.  I also added you onto the conversation from over a year ago.   If it is a coincidence it would be a highly unusual one, but it is possible.  You are being defensive because you put hard work into something.  Maybe you can see why I would be a bit defensive too if I thought someone was using my work without crediting me.   If you didn't use the same files I made that were shared with others here,  if you did it all on your own, then that's all you have to say.  I just thought it was a very odd coincident.

Well perhaps I'm being too harsh. But from my end... I worked hard to make this happen. Out of the blue (from my perception) someone claims I stole this, which is entirely untrue. I can confirm that I and Requies are the only two authors of this mod. For my "proof" you'd have to contact Jeff Favignano, PNWParks, Albo, Gallonman20, MikeGoldenGames, and anyone else that I sent my original files to. I literally started with about 5 files, and with the help of Requies, we turned it into hundreds after months of endless editing and testing.

It must just be a case of great minds thinking a like.  Also, I wouldn't dredge up EA lawyers while actively using their IP :ninja:  I've attached all the audio files I worked on.  They should  be good to go as is should anyone wish to use them

Well hey buddy. I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm sure that you can understand where I'm coming from (as you've also made an attempt at this mod). Tell you what, considering you did also take a crack at this, I'll go ahead and add you to the credits. I'd also like to (virtually) shake your hand and apologize for being quick to blow up, but it seemed to me someone was trying to downplay and accuse me with all of the hard effort put into this. I never have, and never will steal from others. I always give credit where credit is due. If ever you'd like to collaborate, or fix anything here, you're more than welcome. Hit me up, and we'll make it happen

water under the bridge!  I'm no coder, but I do have really good ideas about what audio files to use when.  Maybe we could collab on that.  I'm just getting back into LSPDFR again after a hiatus, so I'm going to download your mod and see how you have everything set up first.  I'm sure we probably have some of the same audio clips, but maybe I clipped some you might not have and vice versa.  In all, the clips I attached could replace 80% of the dispatch audio.  The hardest part as you know, is the logic GTA uses for dispatching.  Unit name, crime, location.   I could never get the audio to work nicely because it ended up being a mix of some original audio mixed with new audio (which didn't sound too good)  In short, I'd love to collab and see if there is any suggestions I could do to improve an already fantastic mod.
