Realistic Speed Radar 1.2.6107.41881

(29 reviews)

2 Screenshots

Realistic vehicle based radar system. Vehicle direction segmentation, antenna selection, fastest mode, etc. This is a simulation of the Kustom Signals Golden Eagle II radar system which is very popular among law enforcement in the United States.

Features:

  • Realistic graphical interface
  • Realistic modes
    • 6 modes
    • 4 moving and 2 stationary modes just like it's real life counterpart.
    • Fastest / Closest(strongest) modes
  • Realistic capture area
    • Cone shaped capture area in front and behind your vehicle
  • Lock system realistically locks the mode, range, patrol speed and target speeds

How to use:

Spoiler
  1. Watch this: https://youtu.be/fmH6F7fNN2o  (same as above)
  2. Follow install directions
  3. Start GTA (normally, rage or via multiFive/Reborn)
  4. Get in a vehicle
  5. Press J
  6. Press K to cycle modes (2 stationary modes, 4 moving modes)
  7. Press L to lock a target
  8. Press ALT+K to toggle fastest mode

Installation:

Spoiler
  1. Install ScripthookV by Alexander Blade (download)
  2. Install ScripthookVdotNet (download)
  3. Download this mod
  4. Copy the "SpeedRadar.dll" over into the scripts folder you created in step 2
  5. Start GTA (normally, through Rage, or through multiFive/Reborn)
  6. Get in a vehicle and press J - the radar interface should pop up

  7. Now you can alt+tab to change keys as explained below
  8. Press insert to reload the scripts once you have updated the ini file!

Key bindings / METRIC:

  • J - Power
  • K - Mode (main modes)
  • AlT+K - Fastest / Strongest(closest) toggle
  • L - Lock toggle

UPDATING KEYS & changing to metric (KPH):

Spoiler

There will be an INI file located in the same directory as the DLL file. If there is not one, please run the script at least once and it will be automatically generated.

Update keys as you see fit, you should be able to use keys such as F1 or F5 if you wish (just enter that in place of J, for example).

Set MPH=FALSE in order to get KPH speed readouts!

Modes explanation:

Spoiler

Moving modes:

  1. Front/same direction
  2. Front/opposite direction
  3. Rear/same direction
  4. Rear opposite direction

Stationary modes:

  1. Front, same and opposite direction
  2. Rear, same and opposite direction

In addition to these modes, there is a 'fastest mode' switch.

  • In normal mode (IRL), the radar works by returning the strongest signal returned to the antenna - this can quite often be the largest vehicle on the roadway, or the closest vehicle. Imagine that it's a video camera - it'll return the vehicle that takes the most screen space... basically... (closer vehicles = more screen area)
  • In fastest mode (IRL), the radar works by returning the fastest signal returned back to the antenna, irregardless of other signals. This allows law enforcement to capture the speed of a motorcycle passing a semi - whereas in normal mode the speed of the semi would be returned.

  • Normal mode in the script will return the closest vehicle in the capture area
  • Fastest mode in the script will return the fastest vehicle in the capture area

Known Issues / Bugs:

Most issues are caused due to improper installation. MAKE SURE YOU'VE INSTALLED PROPERLY!

Spoiler

Known issues

  • Some screen resolutions will show the mode selector strange. It's usable, just unsightly.
  • Sometimes in certain areas of the map, you can't get a speed reading. Partially addressed in 1.1
  • When moving at a high rate of speed (70mph+) you will often return your own speed. addressed in 1.1
  • Some occasional random crashing with no log output addressed in 1.1

What's New in Version 1.2.6107.41881

Released

  • Attempted fix for INI file. INI file will now ALWAYS be located with the dll file, despite system configuration.

Doesn't work.  I have created a scripts folder and put both documents in them.  I have also installed ScriptHookV and dotnet and still don't have it working.  I made sure that I had C++ 2013 and Net Framework were installed. I have no idea why it isn't working.

How to install:

  1. Download: Community Script Hook V .NET 2.10.9
    1. https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/scripthookv-net
  2. Download Speed Radar Files
  3. Install Speed Radar files to "Scripts" folder
  4. Place Community Script Hook V .NET 2.10.9 files in GTA V directory
  5. Launch game! (If you use stock ELS controls I recommend switching Speed Controls so they don't conflict)

Anyone get this to work with lspdfr 0.4?  This worked fine for me on previous versions, can't get it work now.  I don't like any of the other radars, this one seems the most realistic.

Looks like I get when loading the plugin:

Plugin does not have the required plugin attribute

parameter name: assemblypath

I GOT IT WORKING!!!!!!!

I had to install (re-install) .Net Framework.  Also (not sure if this has anything to do with my problem), I had the key bindings in lower case characters.  Changed them to upper case.  I'm off to run some radar.

It's a standalone script, what do you mean?

This mod is incompatible with traffic policer. It comes up as a warning and will not work. No idea how to get it to function. Would much prefer this radar over the one in traffic policer

Maybe I'm not understanding.  This script works even without lspdfr.  It doesn't run with traffic policer installed?

That's because you're installing it in the plugins folder. You need to put it in the scripts folder.

I cannot get this to work for the life of me. I have created the Scripts folder, dragged the two files in, watched the tutorials on how to get it working... It still doesn't work. Am I missing something?
