Realistic vehicle based radar system. Vehicle direction segmentation, antenna selection, fastest mode, etc. This is a simulation of the Kustom Signals Golden Eagle II radar system which is very popular among law enforcement in the United States.
Features:
- Realistic graphical interface
-
Realistic modes
- 6 modes
- 4 moving and 2 stationary modes just like it's real life counterpart.
- Fastest / Closest(strongest) modes
-
Realistic capture area
- Cone shaped capture area in front and behind your vehicle
- Lock system realistically locks the mode, range, patrol speed and target speeds

How to use:
- Watch this: https://youtu.be/fmH6F7fNN2o (same as above)
- Follow install directions
- Start GTA (normally, rage or via multiFive/Reborn)
- Get in a vehicle
- Press J
- Press K to cycle modes (2 stationary modes, 4 moving modes)
- Press L to lock a target
- Press ALT+K to toggle fastest mode
Installation:
- Install ScripthookV by Alexander Blade (download)
- Install ScripthookVdotNet (download)
- Download this mod
- Copy the "SpeedRadar.dll" over into the scripts folder you created in step 2
- Start GTA (normally, through Rage, or through multiFive/Reborn)
-
Get in a vehicle and press J - the radar interface should pop up
- Now you can alt+tab to change keys as explained below
- Press insert to reload the scripts once you have updated the ini file!
Key bindings / METRIC:
- J - Power
- K - Mode (main modes)
- AlT+K - Fastest / Strongest(closest) toggle
- L - Lock toggle
UPDATING KEYS & changing to metric (KPH):
There will be an INI file located in the same directory as the DLL file. If there is not one, please run the script at least once and it will be automatically generated.
Update keys as you see fit, you should be able to use keys such as F1 or F5 if you wish (just enter that in place of J, for example).
Set MPH=FALSE in order to get KPH speed readouts!
Modes explanation:
Moving modes:
- Front/same direction
- Front/opposite direction
- Rear/same direction
- Rear opposite direction
Stationary modes:
- Front, same and opposite direction
- Rear, same and opposite direction
In addition to these modes, there is a 'fastest mode' switch.
- In normal mode (IRL), the radar works by returning the strongest signal returned to the antenna - this can quite often be the largest vehicle on the roadway, or the closest vehicle. Imagine that it's a video camera - it'll return the vehicle that takes the most screen space... basically... (closer vehicles = more screen area)
-
In fastest mode (IRL), the radar works by returning the fastest signal returned back to the antenna, irregardless of other signals. This allows law enforcement to capture the speed of a motorcycle passing a semi - whereas in normal mode the speed of the semi would be returned.
- Normal mode in the script will return the closest vehicle in the capture area
- Fastest mode in the script will return the fastest vehicle in the capture area
Known Issues / Bugs:
Most issues are caused due to improper installation. MAKE SURE YOU'VE INSTALLED PROPERLY!
Known issues
- Some screen resolutions will show the mode selector strange. It's usable, just unsightly.
- Sometimes in certain areas of the map, you can't get a speed reading. Partially addressed in 1.1
-
When moving at a high rate of speed (70mph+) you will often return your own speed. addressed in 1.1 -
Some occasional random crashing with no log output addressed in 1.1
What's New in Version 1.2.6107.41881
Released
- Attempted fix for INI file. INI file will now ALWAYS be located with the dll file, despite system configuration.
