Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Spoiler

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Please do not reupload or redistribute this without my permission, rather link back to this original page. Thank you.

So with this script alone am I able to activate the lights but not the siren? Or do I need a separate script for just the lights?

great mod Albo! I do have one issue. if I use one of the control unbinding metas it does disable the lights phone ect. but i cant use the d pad for for most of the ui's. example is your lspdfr+ ui during a traffic stop. is this something that has to happen in order to get the siren controls working on the xbox controller?

Yeah it sucks but i will sacrifice in using the keyboard for the ui. as long as I can manage the sirens without taking my hands off the controller. eventually Im sure there will be a fix.

Updated to new version, still doesn't work for me.  Seems to be some specific problems:

  • At the beginning of each audio sound, the volume starts out really low and then jumps up to normal volume
  • Sometimes the buttons don't work, and other times the audio continues to play at the very low volume level
  • The horn sound sometimes plays 2 or 3 overlapping tones, and becomes really quiet when a siren is also on
  • The "secondary siren" button now seems to randomly select from either the secondary or tertiary sirens.  Is this an intended function?  I liked them as seperate buttons.

This is with completely vanilla sirens:

I just edited the controller binding file to suit my needs, I'm using up to change siren tone, RB + down to mute/unmute siren, the horn turns the sirens/lights off anyway and then I have the tap horn on the X button and remapped next vehicle weapon to B works great for me plus I get the use of the menus back with the controller.

How how did you remap the controller buttons, I'm using X 360 controller. I didn't know it was possible how you do it?

I just downloaded the latest version. It's really awesome, just like the ELS plugin in GTA 4. But I would like if there would be even the feature of the siren sound echo, when you put the dynamic visual, for example when you're editing a video, you put a visual stopped without following the police car, you see the police car passing with the siren on, and when it passes at high speed you hear the siren sound being alterated in the echo because the car is moving fast.

If you know what I mean.

Like this, for example:

Lemme know if you will add that feature.

Does this affect the NPC drivers as well?

Hello! Great mod sir!

Quick question, can we use vehiclesirensetup file to customize sirens for added custom vehicle too. I use Realism Dispatch Enhanced and I wonder if I setup siren with custom added police vehicles models of this mod it would work? Do your mod recognizes vehicle models of addons?

GUI should follow tomorrow.

But honestly, you'll be in love with it without the GUI

@AlexanderTheGreat Unfortunately I use functions that were only introduced in RPH 0.44 to make the experience that much more awesome.

RPH 0.45 currently has no issues AND people have reported better performance with it including myself, so I'd definitely recommend upgrading!

Hey, unfortunately I don't use a controller. The meta edits are an optional thing you can use and have been created by somebody else.

However, if you use LSPDFR+'s traffic stop UI, that should work fine with the controller if Siren Mastery works, as it uses the same detection system.

Yes!

If the vehicle isn't a law enforcement vehicle but has a siren, you can add its model to the vehicle siren setup XML file to add it manually.

Hey, can you try with only Siren Mastery installed and running and post another RAGEPluginHook.log please?

When switching to a secondary siren, it'll switch to a random siren marked as 'secondary' in the XML file. By default, this includes the tertiary siren. This has always been the case.

You can change your secondary sirens in the XML file if you wish.

@badass22 Hi, the echo is something I may add in future. For now, though, I'm working on adding the UI

At the moment, it doesn't do anything. So I guess you could say it's pointless

Albo how to do you make the sirens louder?

There is an option in the GeneralConfig.ini.

You can also edit the volume of individual sirens in the XML file (check out the examples).
