Repeat Offender [Callout] 1.17

(35 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This will be the first, and short hand release of Repeat Offender series - while I do plan to add more callouts to it, and polish the first one (possible vehicle breaking and entering), I decided since I'm low on time to let everyone have a go at it.  It currently ONLY SPAWNS in the city area, more so in the Davis/Hood area in the southern side of the city.

What to expect :

Real police work.  In short.  You'll have to pay close attention to the suspect (if you find him) and go from there.  Pressing F5 will GIVE YOU OPTIONS.  Sometimes the subject of the call did nothing wrong.

What can happen?  I'll talk about a few out comes because there are literally over 200 different things...

  • Subject runs on sight of police
  • Subject is innocent and hasn't done anything wrong
  • Subject attempts to attack player (sometimes a fatal attack, sometimes not)
  • Subject attempts to drop drugs or stolen items without the player seeing (back track your footchases before calling 10-8!) THESE ITEMS ARE SMALL, YOU'RE THE POLICE, GET YOUR FLASH LIGHT OUT AND GO FIND IT!  Heroin bags, illegal prescriptions, crack pipes, small stolen wallets, he will try to ditch things (SOMETIMES, NOT ALWAYS) Keep that in mind... collected evidence YIELDS POINTS!

Sometimes you cannot take any legal action against the person if you didn't see anything.  When you 10-8 from the call, you'll get a brief of how well you've done.  You can arrest (detain the person) if you wish, however, if you decide not to charge them, releasing them will not count as a negative arrest.

Callouts are entirely way to straight forward so far, lets change that.

Future improve plans :

Implement a proper points system with Albo (and storing / protecting points)

Improve calling the registered owner mechanics / handling

Add ability to request K9 if subject dropped items / might have dropped items while fleeing

Improve brief screen on arrest (brain storming ideas still.)

Whatever else the community says that makes practical / logical police work sense to add into the callout.  I already have additional callouts PLANNED however.

What's New in Version 1.17

Released

Added ability to set Menu Key in the INI (had a few free minutes)

Decided to increase the buffer zone slightly for callout (will trigger more) MOSTLY HAPPENS IN DAVIS/CHAMBERLAINHILLS AREA, However, can spawn in Vespucci, Pillbox, and Downtown.

To those of you who say you aren't getting the callout from this mod - Go to the south-southeast area of the city (which is where the spawn points for this mod are), look for the callout "Vehicle related burglary" and then accept it. you can use "X" to force a callout.

If you don't get this callout within 10-20 attempts I recommend you remove at least some of the other callout mods you use just to test and to clear the clutter.

The mod is fully functional as is, all the .ini file will do is add some small configurable options most likely.

Yes, soon. As there is no reason to ask again, please refrain from doing so. The author is aware and has said he will implement an INI file next version.

Yes, this is an early work in progress and FinKone has many more callout plans (13 or so I think) that he hopes to work on.

Awesome. My question wasn't in disapointment, just making sure I didn't do something wrong. Thanks.

Daaaaaaaaaamn 13? That's pretty awesome to even think about! If he ever needs someone to test *cough* *cough* I would love to volunteer myself

Hey guys, just some quick feedback, I know I mentioned a couple things in my 100stars/5 review of this awesome callout. Firstly I apologise if this has been pointed out. When using the callout to call for the additional unit to watch the perp, after you clear code 4, the police vehicle drives around the city with his sirens constantly on. Not sure if this is just me. doesn't take away from the mod, just not sure if that's a tiny easy bug to fix for the next update. And just for the record, this callout has spawned in almost every single part of los santos for me. I'm lucky. Variety.

I'll double tap to make sure hes been dismissed - might not be working correctly.

awesome work i love the in depth investigation needed at the scenes im still trying to figure it all out always a different variable only thing i have noticed is for some reason once i make contact with the suspect another unit shows up without being called for and no matter if a gun is shown or not the cops start lighting the guy up with pistol fire cant wait for updates tho to add to what is the start of somthing amazing

Nice callouts man!!! Although I much rather be a sheriffs office than city PD. If you could make some in Sandy shores and Paleto that would be even better!!

Failing to tell dispatch you are 10-4(Ok) will result in them sending backup units, currently they just murder him... I'll update this in later additions to the code.

I hear ya brother - and I am sorry for restricting people in the end I'll be adding more spawn points (to include the entire map) currently, however... I just dont have the time.
