[ELS] 1991 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 - Los Angeles Police Department 1.0

(6 reviews)

4 Screenshots

Hello guys! After my time travel in the 1980s to bring back to life those legendary box body cars, now I just made a step further, and went to the era when the aero bodies conquered the interest of anyone, even law enforcement. That's why I'm proud to present you the 1991 LAPD Chevrolet Caprice 9C1!

Features:

  • Federal Signal Aerodynic Model 25 California Spec
  • Federal Signal Unitrol 480K console
  • ELS halogen lightning setup
  • Full carcols.ymt file integrations with coronas

For a better experience with halogen lights, I recommend you this:

Along with mine, I recommend you this:

F.A.Q.

Q: Why are there lights randomly steady burning?

A: If it happens, I guess it's an ELS thing. You can disable them by using Enhanced Trainer, going to Vehicle->Modifications, scrolling up to the end and disabling from Extra #1 to Extra #6.

Q: Why do the lights work only in LSTG-3?

A: This car is almost 30 years old. The lightbars they mounted back then only had 2 stages. Pratically LSTG-1 and LSTG-2 are for the traffic stop (rear yellow lights flashing), and LSTG-3 is for Code 3 response (all lights working).

Q: Can I take the DEV model of this car and customize it as I wish?

A: Yes you can. But don't forget to credit the original authors of the DEV model. If you don't wanna get in trouble. Hahahaha! I'm joking but just credit them.

Hope you like it.

Enjoy!

That’s a 1993-1994.

Caprices has hubcaps and the rear wheels covered during the 1991-1992 timeline.

In the 1993-1994 timeline, they changed by having the rear wheels discovered like the front ones, and they didn’t have hubcaps anymore.

What do you mean they didn't have hubcaps anymore?

Ah ok. By the way from 1993 on, the rear wheels are fully discovered.

I know what a 1993 Caprice looks like.

Because you said the LAPD Caprice I posted the pic of was a 1993-1994 model, but if you look closely to the rear, the wheels are half-covered by the chassis, so it means it’s a 1991-1992 Caprice. That’s all.

The car in the picture is a 1992 Caprice, look at the rear wheels, they have the cover

I understand that I was looking at the hubcaps.

For the hubcaps, your affirmation is ok.

Could we get a template please? Someone put out a CHP livery, supposedly for this car, but it doesn't line up. I would like to do my own

I don’t know what you mean, but as far as I know, CHP never used the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice, only 1994 and 1995 models.

Oh, well I'm not looking for exact authenticity. Yours is the ONLY 90's Caprice Cruiser I can find, and the only CHP texture I found that was made for it doesn't even apply correctly.

Here is the link for the texture:

If you want to see what I'm talking about, I screenshot my dilemma and posted it in the comments for that file

I’m not on PC atm but I guess you can find the template in the ytd file of my car, or maybe in the one from Lozano71’s Retro Pack.

I actually found a good CHP texture, and I think it was in that retro pack. Thanks

Does anyone have a non-ELS version of this?

Getting ELS is way easier than converting ELS vehicles -> NON-ELS, most likely. Probs not worth it considering non-els vehicles get way less downloads.
Anyways, why would you even want a non-els version?

I don't feel like reinstalling GTA V if something goes wrong with ELS.

:raised_eyebrow: What is there to go wrong? Also, I recommend you get OpenIV and get a mods directory so just in case something does go wrong, you don't have to re-install GTAV.

Alright, I'll do that and then try to download the ELS version the website says this mod is compatible with.  Thanks for helping me out.  I'm new to this GTA V modding thing since I'm used to modding the older GTA titles like San Andreas and III because of the hardware I was using before.  But now, I have a computer that can run GTA V at 60fps+ while multitasking so I'm starting to mod more games like BeamNG.drive and other games that require more capable hardware.
