This plugin was inspired by and borrows code from @Rich's Automatic Siren Cutout.

Permission was obtained directly from Rich for the creation of this plugin.

 

ATTENTION: Rich's plugin is once again under active development

This page will remain as is, and will likely see very few if any further updates. Please attempt to use the original plugin by Rich before trying this one, as it is only here for those who may not be able to get Rich's plugin working.

 

ELSSirenExtender is a simple plugin to provide some additional features to users of ELS-vehicles.

 

Please note, in order to use ELSSirenExtender, you must have ELS installed.

 

Features:

  • Automatic Siren Cutoff! — ON by Default
    • If you exit an ELS vehicle while the siren is still turned on, it will automatically be turned off.
  • Friendly Return Honking! — ON by Default
    • If you honk or yelp near an AI emergency vehicle using ELS keys, they will yelp or honk back.
  • AI Vehicle Avoidance! — ON by Default
    • If you park (stationary) a vehicle with lights activated, AI traffic will curve around the vehicle.
  • Leave Engine Running! — OFF by Default
    • Simply disables the automatic engine turnoff when exiting a vehicle.

All features can be toggled on/off via the included configuration file.

   - Q: How do I edit the .lc file?

      - A: LiteConfig or .lc files are simple text files, you can edit with any text editor such as Notepad.

 

   - Q: I'm having issues with some or all of the mod's listed features, what should I do?

Can you make is so the mod cuts out sirens from dual sirens, as it only cuts out the normal 1-5 i think and not the 6th siren which is dual which is what the other older mod did. If so this would be greatly appreciated.

Great work! Seems like your traffic yeilding is alot smoother than other mods ive used for that feature.

I was able to get everything to work by removing the InputManager. However, since the InputManager is used by Venoxity's SimpleCTRL, users who use it must choose one or the other. Also, the siren doesn't seem to stop if you use Faya's Seatbelt's QuickExit function to quickly unbuckle your seatbelt and exit the car.

So I'll stick with Rich's automatic siren cutout, but I think the ELSSirenExtender is great because it has a bypass function for traffic stops that the automatic siren cutout doesn't have.

Ok, I am getting features such as the honk, and it said it's loaded on screen when I first get in game, however the siren does not cut out when getting out of the car. I use a controller to turn it ELS on and off, so do you think this is why it may not be working? If it is only looking for keybinding and not controller support, possibly?

That would be doing it, yes. Controller support is on the list for 1.0.4, along with a bunch of other fixes to common issues.

they are fully ELS but they require SSLA to properly work, his vehicles use the same keys and same method as normal els cars, they just have a more accurate lighting pattern and lightning reflections

would you ever consider making a dual siren mod to use the 1 to 8 keys 

noticed a little bug. If you have xenon headlights, when you get out of the car, they go halogen until you get back in. 

Also, will this be updated to include AI siren cycling?

The only think I can think of is KTFDO on my machine.  I ripped out Rich's and I had used one other Automatic Siren cutout plug in, but I took them out when I installed this.

This mod has so much potentional for future i especially like the friendly hooking return. But sadly this mod is almost conflicts with others mods and crashes when entering the duty state. I hope this will fixed in the future. Keep up the good work of the mod ❤️

Dudeeee this mod is a must have, it's one of my favorites I'm no longer depending on scene manager to make cars go around me when I'm conducting traffic with my lights on. THANKS SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS MOD!!!!!

@Aaron's Workshop For me, it only crashed LSPDFR, and today's (v1.0.6) update fixed that.
