Notepad 1.0

(4 reviews)

4 Screenshots

Some traffic stops or callouts can get complicated... You search a suspect, they have 3 different kinds of powder, you search another, they have 4 bags of pills... It can be easy to lose track! Time to take some notes with the NOTEPAD!

Features:

  • Take notes with an on-screen notepad
  • 3 different styles including Clipboard, Notepad and Tablet
  • Customize the font, color and positioning of the notes and page title
  • Animations for the Clipboard, Notepad and Tablet depending on which style you have selected

Default Keybinds:

  • Open Menu: F12
  • Open Notepad: N
    • You can change these keys inside the menu or the ini file, there's also options for modifiers!

Notepad Controls:

  • Enter key to type a note
  • Arrow key left and right to change pages
  • Arrow key up and down to select a note
  • Delete key to delete a note

Installation:

  • Notepad.dll, Notepad.ini and the Notepad folder all go into plugins/LSPDFR
  • Go on duty to load the plugin

Requirements:

Known Issues:

  • Certain hotkeys from other plugins may trigger when typing notes. From my experience, menus like Stop The Ped will not open, but things like Grammar Police radio or Roleplay+ animations will trigger if you hit any hotkey while taking notes. I'm trying to figure out a way to avoid this for a future update.

Great mod. This is very useful in RP scenarios.

It is also useful for lspdfr, especially if you are on a server with a lspdfr - report section and can post your reports.

my question is, can we keep it on the screen at all times if we need to while conducting traffic stops?

Will it be saved if we have to close it?

when we're done with any incident?

Does it get refreshed or does it stay there, even when players log out of the game?

You can keep it open during a traffic stop, but you should close it if navigating another menu because it will overlap

The notes are saved when you close the notepad or reload the game

Geoffrey_Gamer had made a video of it on his youtube. I have not checked it out but I don't think I will either.

So I test out the plugins.

I think a bit of tweak is needed. For one would be moving the notepad to a different location. I think that the notepad needs an editor that allows the player to move it around easily while it can be saved in the .ini file. When it is saved, it will saved as the X and Y offset.

Another thing that needs to be changed is when the player writes in the notes, Posts, street, time, or any notes, those things should shown on the screen. It will help the players to jock down the pieces of information for their report without closing and opening the writing box.

there is already a very easy way to move the notepad. Select the "Move Notepad" option and you can move it around with your arrow keys and it'll save to the ini file.

I'm not sure what you mean by "those things should be shown on screen" and "without closing and opening the writing box".

I take you don't use them?

Those things are Nearby Postal, Street name, times, as well county zone

Yes I use them, do you mean when you write a note it should automatically include that information?

that can work too.

but if you don't want to do that route. You can also make those PLD (Player Location Display) shown on the screen while players write their notes.

For example, Player opens the note box so the player can jock down notes. At the same time, the locations show on the bottom left-hand corner so players can jock those down too. It would be cool too if after transferring those notes to a notepad outside of the game, such as Microsoft words or just a regular notepad

I think what you could do for that idea is just use a display help that displays the current street name, county, and current time. Postal code I wouldn't do because not everyone uses the same postal codes.

Hi, great mod, however, your plugin bugs, when re-entering duty. If a player enters a duty, then leaves it and re-enters it, the plugin starts to work incorrectly. The first time it doesn't work at all, and the second time when typing something into the notepad it types 3 times.

I'm writing about this because it's incompatible with my modification (LSPDFR Enhanced), where players take 12-hour shifts frequently going down and coming up for duty.

I hope you will be able to improve it.

how can I disable Roleplay+ animations

All in all, a great plugin. I have a tiny suggestion. I no longer use Stop The Ped and transitioned to Policing Redefined. Either way, when I press ENTER from a menu while the notepad is open, the notepad will prompt me to write something, and maybe I just want to get the individuals' answers before writing on the notepad but just want the notepad animation present. That said, is there any way you can add a lock function like ELS where you press Scroll Lock and it will either disable or enable keybinds for the system? This would be a great implementation so we can disable the notepad to ask questions whilst still having the notepad animation, and then I can press a key to unlock the notepad to write again.

That and/or we can customize the key to write if we want another key other than Enter.

Also instead of throwing the notepad on floor maybe put under u arms animation or put in your front seat of patrol car until needed you just pick it up and put back in patrol car once finished could add animation in patrol car
