This plugin allows you to place barriers and cones to stop the traffic.

Alternatively you can use your police car to block the road and stop the traffic.

Details

This lightweight plugin will add two features to your game. It will allow you to place barriers and cones via a menu. You can open the menu via U. The barriers and cones will block traffic, but cones only in a small radius. You can change the assigned menu key, just edit the TrafficBlock.ini file. It also allows you to disable the barrier feature in case you want to use a plugin with more options for this, like Richs Scene Manager.

With the second feature you can use your police car as a roadblock while you are not in the car yourself. This feature allows you to operate on a street in case of an emergency, without having NPCs driving around you. Traffic stops will not be blocked by this feature, because it triggers only when you park your car diagonally to the road. Adjustments to this feature can be made by editing the TrafficBlock.ini file. To activate the roadblock do the following steps:

Slow down your police vehicle
Park diagonally on the road you are on
Ensure the siren is active
Leave the vehicle

Traffic will now slow down in front of your vehicle, like you can see it on the uploaded plugin pictures. If you want to end the roadblock, go back to your vehicle and drive away. The traffic block will end once your police car is faster than 10 km/h. This is to ensure that the traffic will not start to flow just because you hit a movement button by mistake.

Requirements

A legal copy of GTA V
RAGE Plugin Hook
RageNativeUI 1.9+ ( https://github.com/alexguirre/RAGENativeUI/releases )

Installation

Just copy the plugin folder into your GTA V folder and enable the plugin in the Rage Hook Settings. You can find more detailed instructions within the ReadMe file.

Troubleshooting

Ensure that you have followed the instructions within the ReadMe
Ensure that the plugin was installed into GTA/plugins
Ensure you have installed all requirements
Ensure that you have at least RageNativeUI 1.9
Try to set the IgnoreTabViews .ini option to true in case of any problems with the menu (for example, if the menu does not open)
Acknowledge: Controller / Game-pad input is not officially supported by me for this plugin
Acknowledge: By downloading another mod you may have downgraded your RageNativeUI, see point 4.

99% of all support requests that reach me are about errors that can be avoided. Please read the tips above very carefully. Most of the time the right version of RageNativeUI is not installed or the IgnoreTabViews fix was not used.

If you still have problems contact me via private message and attach the RagePluginHook.log. I can't help you without this log file!

About the future of Traffic Block
In January 2024 I released a new plugin: Traffic Suite. You can check it out here on lcpdfr.com. It does offer enhanced versions of Traffic Block's features and much more. Traffic Block will stay in maintenance mode. I will not release new features for Traffic Block, but fix critical bugs if reported. You can continue to use Traffic Block if you prefer it! Traffic Block is not abandoned, it's just feature complete 🙂

No. Traffic Block is very lightweight and should be compatible to any other mod. Use the troubleshooting section in case you encounter a problem.

The traffic block feature does not seem to work for me, I have my lights and sirens on to slow down traffic, park my vehicle sideways, and the traffic still tries to go past me. This happens with/without the ELS siren turned on.

Adding on to my last post, it seems to make the traffic hit me even more then without the plugin, they just run into me at full speed. Without the plugin they at the very least slow down a bit.

Good job on the mod ! The traffic blocking is a very neat feature.

However, would it be possible to add support to all vehicles ? I did a test and it seems that the intersection blocking only works with the base emergency vehicles. It would be awesome to be able to use vehicles that are added to the game, and not just the replaced ones.

For other readers: We solved this problem via private chat. Please read the installation instructions carefully. Traffic Block must be installed directly into gta/plugins.

Hi! I have just installed this mod on LSPDFR and it keeps crashing the plugin on loading of the game, any help would be appreciated! Please find the log attached :)

Hi @garfie224, thank you for uploading the log. Please always read the requirements of plugins carefully! You've RageNativeUI 1.6.3 installed instead of 1.7.0+ . Please update this dependency of Traffic Block.

Quick question, is it necessary to have the siren active when blocking traffic diagonally? I find that to be annoying and hard to focus on tasks.

Yes, Siren has to be active. I find this more realistic to signal the non player characters that there is an emergency and they have to stop. But I don't check if the Siren is silent or not. You can just enable emergency lights and turn off siren sound. LSPDFR offers this option via the vehicle menu, also different mods can disable siren sound.

Roger. Ya not a big fan of sirens blaring while trying to lay out cones. Not seen any police agencies here in Texas anyways need their sirens on full blast while laying cones. But to each their own.

Is there a possibility of adding a keybind to remove the traffic block? Yesterday I was dealing with an arrest off the side of the road and had to drive away then come back to the scene let traffic flow normally while I dealt with it. No big deal if you can't, just thought I'd mention it.

Sorry, I don't get your point. Can you try to make it more understandable for me what the problem was?

I think we talk about the traffic block feature which is based on your car? Traffic blocks will automatically be removed when:

You drive faster than 10 km/h
You drive your car away from the position where the roadblock was created
You (as a player without the original car) are too far away (400m)

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, I was still really tired when I wrote that. I was asking if an option to add a key to manually clear the roadblocks could be added rather than it being just based on being away from the scene. Hopefully this screenshot helps explain the scenario I had. So basically my car was positioned the same way it is in the screenshot, with the vehicle I was chasing crashed into the barrier to the left. Everything was happening in the yellow striped area of the road, so I was just going to leave the road open and let the traffic through normally. A keybind would be really convenient to have to clear the roadblock rather than driving up and back down the road again in my opinion.

@IAmTheWolf22 I put it on my todo list but don't expect it any time soon. I'm currently busy with another plugin for LSPDFR. In the mean time you have to park your car in a way that road blocks are not created (aligned with the road), sorry 😕
