[DEV] 2016 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor 1.0.0

4 Screenshots

*IN BIG BOLD LETTERS!!!! FOR Y'ALL WHO HAVE BEEN MAKING SKINS!! YOU MUST PAINT WHERE IT SAYS TO "KEEP BLACK" BLACK AND NOT THE BODY COLOR!!! THAT IS THE TRIM ON THE DOOR AND ON EVERY TAURUS IN REAL LIFE IT IS BLACK!!!! NOT BLUE, GREY, WHITE, OR WHATEVER!!!!*

Thank You

Here you go guys after 2 months I think of developing. A 2016 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor unlocked for the public to use! Frankly this is becoming the new Crown Victoria and there is no proper unlocked models for the public to use. So here is this. This took alot of motivation and help from the community and I would like to take a moment to thank these people for their support over the course of this development.

  • Ljcrary for being a Taurus lover and wanting one
  • Gump for wanting a Taurus to make a K9 unit out of *ahem*
  • Ridgerunner for allowing me to release his front bumper on this model
  • Him1250 for providing parts to use
  • Carper for his work on poly crunching the rear bumper
  • BxBugs123 for allowing his parts to be converted to V finally as he said in a status update on his website
  • OfficerFive0 for his support and offer of help
  • Lundy for being L4's police... and letting me know about the "interior" material

  • Izick, DogShoe13, TrentMU, HDgamersPC, Drix Designs, Slendis, Thegreathah, Windows446, Neonlazer, GravelRoadCop, ALLENjr12 for their support

  • and the Community for the models they release in order for all to enjoy and I hope this enhances it

Bugs:

  • Gauge's are inaccurately calibrated, I expect you could rely on the good ole SNT Speedometer in the upper right like in IV
  • Gauge needles are not blue, not sure how to do such?

Notes:

  • To not overlook something I couldn't implement properly is you should add Whelen Vertex's in the headlamps! As shown here https://i.gyazo.com/241c0f3a5e62ec6f7f838a267985fb66.png
  • Stock plates are removable. Just delete the plates in polygon mode by material selecting "vehicle_genericmud_car" material
  • Unlocked for developmental usage, give credits as always
  • As accurate as possible to the 2016 model year
  • Updates might come in the near future

If I missed a credit, missed something, or whatever please contact me anytime and I'll be happy to fix or resolve whatever the problem may be with cooperation.

A great base model, but it needs some work.

LODs, holes in parts of the vehicle. (Front door side AC and under the dashboard by the driver side door, incorrect materials, some detail lacking

bad UV mapping (Along the borders of the dashboard UV mapping is stretched, and some normals on the body that need adjusting.

Made in China, what do you expect? Anyways the rest except certain things I'll fix due to these reasons.

  • Detail lacking? Show?
  • Wrong material? Show?
  • And the bad UV mapping is because I'm not going to go the extra mile for bits of leather and cloth that I thought would be a pain to map. Now the cloth I could but leather I'm not going to bother for now as it's just bits in the door and dash that the average user would care to notice in first person. If the modeler using the model really finds it that annoying they can fix it. Maybe in the future I'll update it but I see no reason to as of right now.

Detail lacking as in the entire interior floor is flat, there's no "hood" for the pipe connecting the exhaust manifold to the muffler, engine is a flat surface, and the seat belt uh... "devices" are literally just black rectangles. For the materials, the underbody has no bump mapping or proper spec mapping to give a 3D effect. It's just a flat texture. Same with a few other materials.

The bad UV mapping can be fixed so easily, just detach the two sides of the console and remap. It'll take less than a minute. If you're not willing to take "the extra mile", you'll end up cutting corners in the long run, I've done it, 99% of the people here have done it, it just shows laziness.

I left the floor flat because I didn't feel it need such a texture. It's been like that since the 2011 CVPI and finally you out of all people are the only one to take notice? And as for this "hood" piece another useless detail, The engine is flat because I didn't believe it was required?, and if you mean the clicky thingy that connects the belt to the seat then yea I can fix that. Thought I did but a minor detail I missed that nobody except you and a small percent noticed. As for materials I left the underbody and other pieces with a texture because once again.. I believed such wasn't required?. The bad UV mapping where on the dash besides the leather? It's just a few stretch marks that I didn't feel need fixing nor acknowledgement. And round of applause to you and apparently the "99%" that will add this detail that I feel is not necessary nor required? or hell I just missed and didn't notice such a minor detail. If it bothers you this much then you don't have to use the model, fix it yourself if you find it easy, or wait till a update when I add this detail. It seems like you're the only one unhappy. I'm sorry that we have different standards about a game.

Uh, no it hasn't?

No detail is useless. I say this for the engine, because even the default GTA cars have 3D engines, that's me being picky, but I'd do it if I were you. You don't have to get smart with me, I'm just giving you criticism. You can always say, "Oh nobody will notice, nobody cares". Yet the majority doesn't even think LODs are necessary... says a lot. It's also easy just to say, "fix it yourself", but that gets nothing done. I'm straightforward about my reviews, I'll tell you what you can improve. Call me unhappy with the effort, or just accept the mindless "5/5 OMG KDKFKKDKAKF" reviews because that really helps people. I mean no offense to you at all, I'm just being straightforward. It's the only way to get people to improve, not by going, "omg so good quality 5/5 *insert stupid meme here* *insert emoticons here*".

I'm talking on my 2011 CVPI and all the other models I released. And I know they have a engine but I just don't ever look at the engine nor does anybody else besides a small percent. It's more so a luxury, not a requirement. And who said I was getting smart? I'm responding to your criticism with a opinion and reasoning for such. And I can say that no body will care because it's true. Though I have LOD's because of course they are required if you want to see the model a good of ways away. And I say fix it yourself because I know you'll get it done since you seem to care for such. And I understand you're straightforward with your reviews about "details". I took no offense. Just responding with a opinion and reasoning.

Apologies if I took you wrong on that. Yet what I said, the same majority that doesn't look at the engine is the same giving those types of reviews and thinking quantity over quality. It's nice of you to assume I'd do it myself, but I really don't have the time nor any use for such a model. Best just to give a thought and get back to it. For the LODs, just use a "detail stripped" interior for L1, and for L2 maybe, for L3 and L4 just take the LODs from the Vapid Police interceptor. It's the easiest way to do it, and it still looks great.

Nah you're fine. And I understand. And Lundy I know you too well, you're old school or lore friendly. The LOD's I just have up to L2. L1 is the base with the LOD interior from Forza. L2 is just a zmodeler optimized model. I thought about using L3 and L4 but didn't see why. I'll add them later though.

The LODs are the first thing I look for. You wouldn't imagine how demanding it can be when you don't do them properly. It may just seem like, ah who cares, but imagine having 10 squad cars all being over 100k polygons, and 5 more responding cars in the distance being 80k polygons or so. You get the idea, it can be really bad. LODs can make and break a mod. Quite literally.

love the car did a great job... I noticed something with this and your 2013tahoe after I am done making my police car out of them and exporting them the lights still work right. some other cars I have gotten when I put them in by themselves the lights brake headlight work right. after I edit and export they stop working even tho I don't touch them. do you or anyone know how to fix lights? it seems to be the glass is not letting the light thru it does after i remove it and i make it UV2 but nothing changes
