  1. Turns out communities react poorly when an unarmed man's spine is crushed. This is from CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/26/us/baltimore-freddie-gray-protest/index.html) That doesn't sound like good police work, it sounds like criminal negligence. The community has a right to be outraged. I don't condone violence, especially not in protests. But everyone needs to understand that violent protests have happened in nearly every instance of social change. We're in the process of that now, so please keep an open mind.
  2. Maybe the mindless people shouting "Fuck the police" at protests. But not average Americans who are growing concerned.
  3. I don't think anyone thinks that cops are all bad. And yes, the media is more likely to report on police brutality as opposed to an officer being killed. I'm just tired of seeing videos of assault, criminal negligence, and sometimes even murder and having a certain portion of the country shrug it off as "a few bad apples". They play by different rules. A lot of the time they're not held accountable by district attorneys or their superiors. They get the benefit of the doubt. If a supervisor pulls up to a situation where a cop is standing over a suspects dead body, the cop's story is given the benefit of the doubt. What I want people here to understand is that there is legitimacy to the video you linked. Unfortunately the percentage of cops that abuse their power paint the rest with bad lime-light. But that is not the fault of the media or people who are "anti-cop", that is the fault of the cops who do bad things. Instead of turning this into a debate I want to built upon the message of the video you linked. The message of the video was overall "Only some cops do horrible things, so don't worry." I want to built that into "Only some cops do horrible things, so lets not make excuses for the ones that do. Lets enforce the law."
  4. Well the NYPD wouldn't have asked the guy "How do you feel" or "are you injured". If anything 4 or 5 cops would've dog-piled on him while shouting "stop resisting".
  5. All of that data equates to "we only do horrible things SOMETIMES, so any criticism isn't valid". Cops play by different rules in our country. The amount of unarmed people killed and maimed by police is absurd. There's a new video every day of an unarmed person being shot, beaten, or tased to death. Does that sit well with you guys? This is a real issue, and does not make some "anti-cop" for pointing that out. You can have great respect for the work that cops do but still want them to be held to high standards. The cops in my small town are absolutely lovely people. They play basketball with kids at the park and have a good relationship with the community. But unlike others, I am willing to look past the version of the world that has been put before me. Those FBI statistics rely on voluntary self-reporting and therefore are not accurate representations of the kind of abuse and misconduct that happen daily. And FinKone, I love your videos man. I'm sad to see that you think anyone is seriously saying "OMG COPS ARE GOING CRAZY THEY ALL BAD!". That's a very simplistic view of an issue for someone as intelligent as yourself.
  6. I actually work in the media industry so bear with me... Stories of police brutality are pushed to the top of the list because they are important and captivate the interest of the audience. A story of an NYPD cop breaking up a fight without killing anyone doesn't make the morning news because its not important. Cops who kill unarmed people deserved to be held accountable by the media, where as a cop just doing his job doesn't deserve the public spotlight. There is a fundamental difference in trying to bring light to an important issue and respecting the work that cops do. Yes, its unfortunate that we don't constantly see videos of cops doing good things. But that shouldn't undermine an important discussion about police misconduct.
  7. So you think its better if we all just don't hear about police brutality?
  8. Four unarmed Swedish cops diffused a violent situation on a NYC Subway. They did so professionally without the use of unnecessary force. I think the NYPD should take notes. Maybe our cops aren't trained well enough...
  9. Cops would never lie, right...? I understand that your father is a cop, and I'm sure he's a great guy. But not all cops are great people. They're human beings, they also lie.
  10. Are you kidding? They all heard the gun go off, the deputy that shot him drops the gun, which is picked up by another deputy, and says "I shot him, I'm sorry!". Then when theyre pinning him down hes screaming "You shot me! You shot me! I'm losing my breath!" to which the deputy replies "Fuck your breath". Either they knew he was shot, or they are deaf.
  11. Pull up with other officers a good distance away from the suspect, forming a line between him and the populated area. Take cover behind the vehicles, and order him to drop the weapon. If he fires again or makes any sudden movements with the weapon, fire. That's standard police procedure.
  12. He shouldn't have ran but as you said that's not a death sentence. The reserve deputy is being charged with manslaughter, and rightfully so. But what sickens me is how the real deputies treated a man in what ended up being the last hour of his life. Truly despicable, like he's not even a human being.
  13. I haven't seen a topic on this so far so I thought I would make one. Here is a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YADnnvyFjq0 This is the link to the article from Tulsa world: http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/local/sheriff-s-office-confirms-names-of-deputies-in-video-says/article_5e492153-5a2a-55c4-9fee-afc92dbd3a4d.html Thoughts?
  14. No it doesn't. There were better ways to handle that situation.
  15. Hi, I have a problem with Rockstar social and I'm hoping someone here can help. I accidentally logged in on the wrong Rockstar Social account (and hit the sign in automatically button). Now I'm trying to switch the account I'm logged in with, and I can't find the option anywhere. Any help? Thanks!
