I knew about the colour of reflections and range and intesity allready because I used to in the past have reflections that carried on for blocks and were so bright it was like a strobe light show and almost sent you into a seizure :p I eventually got it down to a very localised subtle reflection through trial and error. But one thing I could never work out was what the "headlight" stuff did, as it seemed to have no effect on headlights. Finding out it affects the spotlight makes sense and I have been looking for ways to adjust that for a long time. In my game over time I have changed everything from ELS lights to the power of traffic lights and taxi signs. Reall glad to find out about this spotlight parameter. Also this thread saves me explaining the same questions that were asked in a thread of mine the other day :) I think I will just put a link to this thread there hehe

Was it Al Capone who said "You can get further with a kind word and a gun than just a gun" ? I might be wrong on that quote but it's a similar meaning. Implying someone is doing something of their own free will when in fact both parties know it is a demand does ease a situation. EDIT: Actually thnking about it Al Capone might have said it the other way "You can get further with a kind word and a gun than just a kind word". Which sounds more in character for him and obviously has a very different meaning :p Anyway I agree with the first few posts and the OP regarding "Do me a favour" A polite way of saying "do it now" :) However if you have a suspect where it is important to instantly establish your authority then such language may be taken as weakness and abused. Time and a place for both approaches.

Wow thank you for the nice feedback. Surprised people watched it tbh :) Some people asked specific questions, I will try my best to answer them later today when I have a bit more time. But rather than bump this thread again I will edit this post. So if you asked a question you will just have to check back later cause edits don't bump threads as you know:) Edit: People who asked about ELS reflections and colours, this thread has it all explained a lot better and clearer than I could explain :) My main project is still a WIP and before that is finished I want to complete a small movie I have been working on first. I am having issues with main project as I got Sony Vegas 8 to make some specialised editing. But so far I can't produce the same video quality as I can get with Windows Movie Maker. With Vegas I can upload in 1080p but the quality of the vid is awefull. Obviosly it is something I am doing wrong. I have tried saving in MP4 WMV9 AVI and loads of other formats all of which have the same horrible quality :( The main project is a homage movie to dirty harry and the Scorpio case but like I said there is a short movie I need to finish before that. Regarding the question about me not using ELS: I have always used ELS, it's ENB I don't use anymore and don't like. Maybe that is what you read or heard somewhere. Regarding the Charger: It was DeathsDeciple's model which no longer seems to be abailable anywhere. However Cj24 makes a very nice undercover charger. Thx again for the nice comments.

If it was true that you followed ALL the steps. In the troublesgooter and the stickies then your post would include the information asked for . Closing this thread but feel free to run the troubleshooter read the stickies and post again with all relevant information that is required.

Firstly, I can't find my old thread where I previously posted a vid of mine. Otherwise I would have posted this in that thread. I think the thread was lost months ago when the server threw a tantrum. Anyway as part of an ongoing project I record a lot of footage, and this takes up space on my PC. A lot of space ! So I put together a lot of clips in no particular order and uploaded it. Now I can delete it all off my PC :) Please note that some of the stuff is poor quality and thats why it wasn't suitable for my main project. It is in this clip collection either because of poor graphics or audio sync issues. The vid is 41 minutes long so I don't expect people to watch it all, but it is broken into a collection of episodes, some such as "the most useless ladder in Liberty" are less than 10 seconds long. Also after uploading this I kinda wish I hadn't included the first 10 minutes, as this has the poorest quality. The vid includes clips from RC1 -RC2 and as mentioned has a wide varety of quality due to me messing with various settings through the months. Best viewed in 1080p in fullscreen to avoid the black margins. Constructive insults are ok :p

I just tried to find a smiley to express what I felt after reading this thread. But there isn't one that is putting a gun in it's mouth.

Didn't really have time to watch it all so bookmarked it to watch later. But from the first couple of minutes it looks very good. Nice graphics too and from what I see very well edited.

I used to get bored playing LCPDFR so I changed the way I play. I now spend a week patroling a certain area, so when I eventually move on it's fresh. Kinda. Also I change roles a lot. Sometimes I use a marked patrol car and just do traffic stuff. Other times I will use a fbi car and respond to certain calls, sometimes I use a Noose patriot or cruiser and only respond to high threat situations and only use high power weapons. Other times I will park the car up and do a foot patrol. Places like star junction are good for that. Also when on foot patrol I will often ride the subway and patrol stations. There are a lot of areas that don't get patroled when in a car. I also do operations such as targeting prostitution or street crime etc. I will also do some mild role play. Before I start I will pick a rare car with a rare colour and make it my hotsheet. If I see that car I arrest the driver for driving a stolen car. I sometimes pick rare peds too before I start, these peds are on the FBI's 10 most wanted. A bit of imagination, a mod or 2 and I never get bored of this game. I aso take breakes though as others do and play something else.

Pretty much same as most people here. I use yellow secondary lights as a hazzard function. ie: when stopped on the road but not parked.

Right click on the diagnostic and run as administrator.

Looking forward to installing this later and having a look. From the screens it looks awesome but also hopeing it will have the same attention to deatail in the interior as the Tourag did. Loved that model. I can see this ending up as another addtion to my fleet. + 1000 if I could, but I can't so +1 will have to do :p Edit: unmarked version sounds awesome.

"The less overtaking mod" http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=11213 goes well with LCPDFR. It's title is a bit missleading because the main benefit of this mod is when stopped at traffic lights or doing a traffic stop cars will stop behind you for 20 or so seconds. This has the overall effect of lowering the amount of cars that will smash into the back of your patrol car when stopped for what ever reason. No one likes getting rammed when at traffic lights. Also never knew about the idle animation mod. Gonna give that a try as anything that adds to cop realism I am interested in. +1 Custo

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but as someone mentioned winterberg, does anyone have the "winterberg web config.exe" file they could send me ? This lets you run winterberg with English text as well as other things. I used to play winterberg and loved it, but after downloading another version after a PC reformat the versions you get now no longer provide the config.exe and therefor I can't play :(

I may have found a permanet fix for this by messing with the code that keeps all the elements of criminal acts but removed the being pulled out of your own patrol car part. Other peds will still get car jacked. I am still testing this though atm. Pretty sure the mod creator don't mind as his read me says he left everything open so people can change settings. But if it turns out to be stable and works ok I will ask him if it's ok to pass on the changes.
