Yea, bascially, that ticket wont be revoke for sure. Really comes down to, what does the school do about from their end? probably a slap on the wrist honestly, they will probably do nothing. Thats what school systems do now, they are so afraid of problems that they just bury them instead of handling them.

Yes as far as I'm aware, unless the sro is a private security guard, all sro are appointed le officers of the local dpt assigned to the school, rather than being appointed by the school system. Their authority as a leo and sro, in any case I'm aware of, go hand in hand and are ordained entirely from the dpt they are part of in both respects. Only time iv ever heard of it being different is if it is private service, as stated above. This is why their authority is legally separate and makes the situation of the school removing this sro rather odd from a legal standpoint, in terms of supersedence of power. The school can express an interest in having another officer assigned, but they cant overstep an sro authority typically. And as far as I'm aware, the school system leadership, not the school principal would make that formal request to the local le agency. Point being, the principal really shouldn't have any power in this particular situation. The principals superiors in the school system and local le agency should deal with any issues relative to something like this, but outside of that particular school. Hopefully this wall of texts makes sense lol.

Strange that the local authorities allowed that to happen. In my area the sro authority is independent of the school because they are an actual county of officer. None the less, that principals attitude doesnt surprise me. From my own experience with school leadership at every level of the educational system, there are many that feel like they hold all the power, and make efforts to make it as difficult as possible to challenge them even if you're right. One of the key problems with our system today.

1st there were some cross fire issues yes, but relatively minor. The stress your seeing is fairly normal of a situation of that nature, and it should be frankly. 2nd, that isnt a machine gun, it looks like a high powered non lethal gas gun. Probably a rubber bullet. It's possible it is remotely operated. The vid makes it hard to tell, but it was probably used to either hit the weapon out of his hand or cause non lethal pain to him, in an attempt to get him to comply. The extension it is mounted on is a steel pole that serves a variety of roles and can be mounted on the front of a bearcat. Usually the pole is used for pushing things, as ram or otherwise breaking through minor barriers. Overall, an extremely difficult situation for any dpt to handle. They had to act very quickly in order to control it. I know it doesnt seem that way. I think it was well handled considering. Something else to consider, I'm not sure where this occurred, but it looks like a dpt that is in the process of improving itself, probably got better funding in the last few years. It looks like it probably had to make do with less prior to this video. That's a fairly common theme these days, alot of dpts are undergoing that rit now. Just something to consider.
