OriginalNewbie got a reaction from PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadYes. Its an insanely complex mod. I've been here since the 5th of March and it has grown a lot. And its still growing. And Parks has a full time job and a bunch of other responsibilities. These things take time.

The purpose of donations should be to show appreciation for and support projects and creators whose content you enjoy. The "this is not a purchase" text isn't just legal cover, it's a philosophy. Quite a number of people have very kindly donated just to say, "thanks and keep up the good work". Some of the donations I most appreciate are those from people who give just a few dollars to say thanks, without any expectation of a reward. Of course the perks are there as an incentive and reward for those who do choose to contribute, and I know some people are only really interested in early access. But I mean it when I call it a "donation".
From a practical perspective, I have only ever denied one person access to the beta, and that was due to concerns about their ability to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary functionality in development. I proactively offered to refund that individual when I denied them beta access, and processed the refund immediately upon their request. While the license is there to give me a level of protection from abuse, I have never had any issues with any donors and always strive to keep my supporters happy.

Well this has taken a lot more time and been a lot more difficult than anticipated, although I've learned a lot and am quite happy with the result thus far! Not quite complete, as I've yet to add some of the parts around the edges (currently there's a see-through cliff haha), and need to add some more details. But the core station building is nearly complete, with working lights, full collisions, working ladders, station signs, etc. Special thanks to @OriginalNewbie and @magiobiwan for working on a Station Paleto Bay logo!

So, today I discovered the "no boundary limits" mod on gta5-mods.com, which gives you access to pretty much all of the ocean areas as far out as you can imagine. For those who haven't tried this themselves before, without this mod your vehicle won't let you go more than about 1km off shore usually, and if you try to swim out you'll get eaten by a shark. Well, this obviously opens up a lot of new possibilities for Coastal Callouts! I spent several hours this evening trying to improve some of the code that makes NPC-driven boats drive. The good news is, it works fine in the far-off-shore areas. The bad news is, I'm still having issues getting NPCs to drive properly when they're near shore... as you may have noticed in some of the youtube videos, occasionally boats will just sit there and not do anything until you get close enough. I've been able to get them to work a bit further from the player, but still not all the time. I'm planning to continue conducting more research on this matter, but in the meantime, enjoy a couple screenshots from my testing today:

OriginalNewbie reacted to HappyJoker in Plugin crash on LSPDFR callout.according to your crash, it is a model in your game that is causing it to crash. i would reinstall the game, then try.

To use the beta you need a license file, and I can only generate a license file using my home computer, so unfortunately I can't do it any quicker. I actually tried to do it from a computer in a hostel I was staying at (that's how much I care about you guys!) but it wouldn't work. Rest assured that as soon as I get home I'll take care of everyone who donated while I was gone. I know you're all eager to try the mod, but I did make my absence known in advance and there isn't anything more I can do from my phone over wifi in a foreign country. Thank you everyone for your patience!

I wish he could process us that donated but i have to wait

I'm planning to have some environmental response/enforcement as well as fisheries enforcement callouts. One thing in particular I need to figure out still is if I can find a particle effect that'll work for pollution in the water. But I'm definitely planning on having some stuff like that!

OriginalNewbie got a reaction from SkylineGTRFreak in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadI don't doubt that at all, and my excitement just increased ten fold! I'm eagerly waiting for when you return. Have fun, you deserve it! Donated!

The $20 USD one-time donation gets you access, but unfortunately I can't grant access to anything until I return from my trip, sorry! I'll process all donations right away when I get home.
As for your suggestions, I only have internet on my phone for a brief moment here but I'll just say that I think you'll be quite pleased with what the mod has to offer!
Wow! This is amazing! I'll have my work cut out for me to put this amazing ship to use when I get back - can't wait!

I actually didn't want to spent to much time on this before working on the '45, but somehow... Remodelled the flight deck (markings are now actual meshes, so I can use tileable deck texture for a higher quality look) and started modelling the hangars :x Also made a handling that works fairly good (praise the lord!).
The overall model will be enhanced (proper bridge model with see-through windows, etc), but I think I'll save this for later when the other vehicles are finished.
