  1. Yes, grammar police! They both use the same Windows speech recognition protocol.
  2. Thanks for reporting back. I'm sorry it's still not working for you. Since it uses the same in-game audio path as dispatch, and you mentioned previously that your cb mic works for dispatch, I'm not sure what's preventing it from working in your setup. The audio input for GP and NPCI should work interchangeably. They both use Windows speech recognition. The only thing I can think of is to check your mic settings in both Windows and in-game GTA. I'm not sure the rage hook log will be much help either. I think it will just show that NPCI is not receiving audio from you mic. I'm happy to look at it if you post a snippet of that section.
  3. Hi there. "Yes sir" is the default response that triggers when you press the keybind (whether you speak or not), so that at least tells me the plugin is enabled and active. If it's not recognizing your audio, the only thing I can think of is that your in-game audio for GTA is not registering your mic. I would double check your mic settings in GTA. It uses the same in-game mic settings as dispatch, so if dispatch is working for you, then NPCI should work too. I'll be watching for your response. Let me know!
  4. I listened to you and gave it a lot of consideration overnight, and you're right. I have decided to open source the code on GitHub. You can read the full details at the top of my page under the announcements section. 🙂
  5. Hola.
  6. Yeah, that's the default message for unrecognized audio. It displays when you press the keybind, whether you speak or not. At least I can tell it's enabled for you. It sounds like it's not accepting the audio in your current setup. Hopefully your solution works. Let me know if you were successful! Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I hear you on the customize aspect. I'm re-coding the plugin now to work off of XML files and will be uploading a new version this weekend!
  7. Hi there. It uses your in-game mic, so if I understand your setup correctly, you should be able to use the same cb mic that you use for dispatch. You're just pressing down a different keybind to initiate the interaction with NPCI. It's kind of funny actually - when I first created the plugin, it took time for me to adjust to using 2 separate keybinds, and I often found myself speaking my NPCI string to dispatch and vice versa. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you. I hope this helps. Thanks for your post! It is only in English at this time, but new multi-language versions, including Spanish, will be available. More news to follow!
  8. I'm so glad to hear!!! Thanks for letting everyone know! You have to say the whole string for the long ones, but the short ones do have some leniency and allow you to go beyond the end without confusing the response, similar to grammar police. I also included very short ones that allow you to pop them in the middle of your dialog, giving you more freedom on how to use them. You just have to be quick with the keybind to press on and let off. Maybe crafting short pauses in your dialog, if that makes sense. It does takes some getting used to. I tried to include both long and short ones. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for the kind words! The positive reception for NPCI has been more than I could have ever hoped for. I'm about to announce some news that I think everyone is really wanting and will be very happy to hear.
  9. I figured out how to implement XML files for the questions and responses and will be uploading a new version this weekend!
  10. Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes, I was actually hoping to get feedback from the community on whether I should set up a Patreon page to provide custom strings/questions to match your specific style of gameplay. I know that some of the strings are a little unusual due to the way I was using them. Since you're now able to talk to any ped in the game, not just the crims, it was harder to figure out the types of strings/questions people would like to see, especially since the many different STP XMLs only focus on one aspect of interaction. I was also thinking of providing custom responses as well that say your character's name onscreen, to further enhance the immersion. If folks would like to have this option, I'll make it happen through Patreon! This is only the beginning! Thanks for your time in leaving a post!
  11. This is one of my FAVORITE new plugins! I'm having sooo much fun with Grappler! Thank you for bringing this into LSPDFR!!
  12. No worries at all! I'm just glad it's working for you now! I just added that step to my instructions in case anyone else has the same issue. I look forward to hearing about your experience. Enjoy! If that's an option for you, you can certainly do that. I didn't know that was an available option in SP, though I imagine most of the time you'll be facing away so your face won't be visible. I do have a separate script that makes your mouth move, and I do use it from time to time, but I've never been able to make it work at the same time I'm holding down my keybind for NPCI. If you know of a way, please let me know!
  13. I'm sorry to hear it's giving you trouble. If you set up the keybind in the INI file, it should work. Since I'm assuming you use grammar police, your GTA is set up to take audio from your mic. Did you make sure it's enable in your plugins inside RPH? If you don't enable it at the start of RPH as an automatic load, you'll need to activate it using F4. You know, the string loadplugin and then select NPCI from the list. You can also tell if it's enabled, as there is a default response whether you speak or not by tapping your keybind. The response says "Yes sir". Let me know if that helps. I'll add that to my notes if that's your issue.
  14. They're my own questions, largely inspired from STP, but separate from STP. I wish it could pull from existing STP addons. It would have made programming the plugin so much easier. I'll definitely be updating the plugin with new questions, and I'm happy to look at RP for inspiration. I'll do my best to make it as usable and immersive as I can!
  15. Thanks. I've had so much fun using and testing it over the past 5 months. I can say that it registers my voice strings about 98% of the time. It uses Windows speech recognition. Hopefully my YT videos show how well it has worked for me, and it's my hopes that you have the same experience too!

NPCI 2.1 is LIVE! NPCI brings you a new way of interacting with PEDS inside of LSPDFR and adds a whole new level of immersion to your gameplay experience! ANNOUNCEMENT: The new update (2.1) is OUT. This new version finally brings the Microsoft Speech Platform to NPCI, but with a twist! You can now CHOOSE between WSR or MSP in the INI file. You can also tweak the confidence level threshold for each engine in the INI file to find your sweet spot. Lower the value to loosen up the speech recognition or increase the value to tighten it up (you can do it in .01 increments). *** Because both engines (WSR & MSP) are intertwined in the new NPCI 2.1 update - YOU MUST have Microsoft Speech Platform installed to use NPCI 2.1, even if you don't intend on using the new Microsoft Speech Platform. If you do not have MSP installed, you can download it from the links below: *** Microsoft Speech Platform: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27225 Language Packs: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27224 -- For the speech platform install, download the larger 2.6 MB SpeechPlatformRuntime.msi, NOT the 2.2 MB one. -- For English users - download the "MSSpeech_SR_en-US_TELE.msi" Here's the complete list of changes in NPCI 2.1: Spoiler Need support? I just added an early preview for NPCI 3.0 as well, so enjoy! Keep an eye out on my YT page (https://www.youtube.com/@doublehookmedia) for more videos! I'll be posting videos to show you how to modify your XML files, including the PED animations and idle animations. I'll also go over how to create new PED emotion categories and explain how to customize them to create your own PED animations. What is NPCI? Spoiler Suggested "must have" LSPDFR plugins & addons to use alongside NPCI Policing Redefined & Grammar Police. While NPCI works the same for both PR & STP when it comes to the available features, NPCI runs much smoother with the better coded Policing Redefined, so if you want the best NPCI experience, I strongly suggest you go with PR!
