LCPDFR 1.0d Now Released
Thanks Sam. I appreciate the great work and how the direction the community is heading. For everyone else, try reinstalling your game with just LCPDFR v1.0D, still crashing? Post in the support forum.

The Highest Steam Level @ 402
I really enjoy the Steam level system, I myself am a level 30 which gives me the ability to stand out as a loyal steam user among my friends and display information on my profile that ordinary users could not. Additionally, you can just buy the cards to craft the badges, you don't need to own the games. It's impossible to craft badges completely just simply by owning and playing the game anyways, you have to put money into the system.

I can't say I know the reason why those prices are quite different. The microcenter does seem to just have a really good deal. If you can, it might be worth buying from them. Merry Christmas!

Crime Statistics Bug
Sorry for being a little vague. For the first thing, I meant yes you can view your own stats, which is a nice feature, but it's quite simple. It'd be nice to compare against friends and if it would look a bit nicer perhaps. Whenever I go to somebody's profile, chances are it'll redirect and say, "Oops! The user has chosen to hide their stats." I'm happy to here total stats are being counted. Sounds like a great feature that would benefit the community/website. And by currently playing player's stats, I really just meant currently playing players in LCPDFR like the "Mr.Quiggles just arrested somebody in Hove Beach" or "Mr.Quiggles just called in a backup unit". It's a little hidden on the website, it'd be nice to display it nicely, perhaps use photos instead of a live text box. If it was right on the front page for instance, it'd show just how truly active the community is.

Crime Statistics Bug
Thanks Jay for addressing the API keys, I really do like this feature. Just a quick comment on room for improvement, the total collection of stats isn't displayed very well on this site. I know there is a page somewhere that show things like "Mr.Quiggles just arrested somebody in Bohan", and of course you can see your personal stats, but it'd be a nice way to see currently playing player's stats, total stats overall, and individual players stats.

PC upgrade
The motherboard really doesn't offer an increased performance boost. It really only is there for added features you might need. Given only a CPU and GPU combo, I cannot tell if you're going to use the extra 100+ features these motherboards come with. With that said, really any motherboard would work. Just make sure it has the I/O ports you need, SATA Ports, right Intel Chipset/Socket, PCI Slots, (ect ect, the bare basics) and you should be fine. Otherwise, the other features don't matter.

It's really only GPU based RAM that counts, and I doubt you have 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

The CIA and the interrogation methods
The Constitution only applies to United States citizens, and the vast majority of interrogation subjects are not Americans. I think you're thinking of the Geneva Convention's protection of Prisoners of War, but many of these people do not classify as POW's either due to Bush's decision to call them enemy combatants. To strike the final nail in the coffin, all CIA blacksites are not on US Territory, so American law does not apply there. The best way to look at it is we kidnap civilians of their own country and fly them to a country we control to interrogate them.

I get 31-32 degrees Celsius at idle, and about 77-78 degrees Celsius under 100% load.

The CIA and the interrogation methods
I can't say I have an opinion. Let me explain why. I've personally seen gruesome images of torture (abu ghraib being a prime torture candidate) and learned about the methods behind torture. What torture works best? Physical pain and life deprivation? Or exploiting your enemies physiological weaknesses like their family or religion to get them to "Crack"? Both have proved to work. Now, as unpopular as it may be here, I will stand and defend the CIA (Doesn't mean this torture was justified, I'm just not in the mood to read a 500+ page report ATM). Let me answer a question with a question. If a possible terrorist known to be associated with a group that might have intelligence on an impending ticking dirty bomb in New York City, and just like that you could stop it, and save the lives of millions, would you? Does he have rights, or does the rights of the majority for safety outweigh this individual's right to liberty? I think it's a thin line, walked every day by Police and Military in different ways. The police is a little more of does this man have drugs, did he just kill a man, or is he going to go home and assault his girlfriend? I'd like to find out, but he has rights too. I think in many of these cases, it must be judged on a case by case basis. I am all in favor of people's rights to liberty and security, rights and so forth, but sometimes exceptions have to be made. Sometimes, it's better to be safe than sorry. Which I believe this CIA response was post 9/11.

I am getting a computer but should it have Windows 7 or 8
I'll defend Windows 8. I have a dual boot system, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 for 2 years now. I've used Windows 8 for years now and I love it. Windows 8 is more visually polished (Visuals aren't why you should buy a OS though) and is significantly faster, especially with SSDs (Newer software supports newer hardware better). Obviously, do not use the Metro version. People say "don't use windows 8, it's for smartphones" like one earlier comment, which is obviously a true statement, but only applies to the metro UI. Install a free start button and you basically have a faster, longer supported, more polished version of Windows 7. (Microsoft is discontinuing Windows 7 support sometime in 2015, which means some companies will refuse to help you if you're using outdated versions).

Upgrading Parts
I said it's impossible because more likely the new processors you'd want to buy aren't compatable with that motherboard socket type.

New gaming PC :D
I never bothered to learn about AMD products, I always had a grudge against them so I can't even comment on the main performance parts of your system (CPU+GPU). I can say thermal paste doesn't matter, WiFi sucks for gaming (Singleplayer is not affected), and don't cheap out on the PSU. I'd recommend a Modular, 750W PSU. I also recommend both an SSD and a HDD.

Upgrading Parts
The Graphics Card/Processor (Impossible to change though)/and HDD needs to go, but without a price point, I'm not of much use.

Indictment of NYPD Ofc. Pantaleo - Innocent
July 7th, 2014 - Eric Garner, a black man well known in the Staten Island community he was born in and raised, was strangled to death by an NYPD Cop, Daniel Pantaleo, during an encounter in a Staten Island community. Initially, Eric Garner was accused by the Police of selling cigarettes illegally, a practice he had been cited/arrested for in the past nearly 30 times. The situation escalated with the police eventually having to tackle the large man to the ground. Today, after 8 weeks of deliberation, the NYC based grand jury returned a Not Guilty indictment for the Officer, declaring there not enough evidence to indict on the proposed murder charges. Now I ask, what do you think of the incident? The use of force? The indictment? <opinion> If I may insert my opinion, I'd say overall, this was quite an appalling procedure to me which easily could've been averted. The choke hold, a take down procedure banned by the NYPD in 1995 (Fact check me, I might be wrong) should have not been used here, at least in my opinion. From the video, I think the man, while at times, being verbally aggressive, isn't exhibiting physical aggression towards the officers. Do take into account the camera angles are at times, difficult to view. However, it appears when on the ground, Mr. Garner is not flailing, is not rolling around, is not fighting back in any visible form yet the police officer in question continues the strangle hold. At one point, Mr. Garner expresses he cannot breath several times, and at some point within the next few minutes, dies. There was adequate backup on scene, Mr. Garner was physically passive, and the Chokehold was against NYPD practice. The New York City coroner ruled Eric Garner's Death a Homicide, citing compression of the neck and chest while in chokehold is what killed Mr. Garner. For what it's worth, I strongly supported the Not-Guilty Verdict of Officer Wilson during his time at the Ferguson, MO Police Department. However, I am quite appalled at not so much the verdict (As an indictment is difficult, especially on LEOs), but the combined Officer's actions to take down Eric Garner. It seemed unwarranted, and excessive in my eyes. Letting me down once again NYPD, smh. </opinion>

Btw, GTAIV does work with my GTX 970. It had a weird error where it put all the settings to the lowest possible and said that the hardware installed may not meet game requirements, so I made a commandline.txt that added -norestrictions and that seemed to work.

If you don't know what you're doing, Overclocking can screw things up. If you don't ever intend on overclocking, there's really no reason to get the Hyper 212 Evo either. But I highly recommend sticking with it if you think you might want to try out overclocking one day. (I have the same CPU Cooler). The Intel processor comes with a stock fan, so that's why I said the cooler isn't necessary if you don't ever intend on OC. That SSD looks like a great choice! But if it's out of your price range, that's understandable. I recommended one because the bottleneck of most modern computers is the speed of the hard drive, it's always working at 0 or 100%. That 750W PSU looks much better, Corsair is a fantastic brand, one of my personal favorites. Honestly, if you're looking to save money, the Strix card would do just as well, if not better than mine card. I do recommend that crad, Asus is another great brand, and the only reason I went with the Nvidia one is more or less because it looks nicer than it's performance/price. I don't have any gameplay with my GTX 970 yet, there is some clips here are there with my 660 SLI. GTAIV Wasn't liking the 970 too much, I might need to reinstall the game or do some commandline edits, so I wouldn't purchase the Best Buy card before I give the OK, but the card performs phenomenally, it's just that particular game. And I'm happy to help anyone in need of computer help. :) EDIT: That board also looks solid of a choice.

If you intend on overclocking, I recommend the 4690k, otherwise the 4670k will be good. If you didn't know, the "K" stands for an overclock able processor, so the 70k can still do overclocking. Storage is important, so I'll take the time to explain it. Hard Drives have been around for a while. They're slow, can crash (and lose all the data on them), but very cheap and don't cost a lot of money. SSDs are a new technology brought to the market within the past few years. They're much smaller, contain no moving parts (Flash memory, like a flash drive), and in some cases 10-20 times faster than a hard drive. But, they're expensive usually around $1 a GB making a 1TB SSD too expensive to buy in replace of your hard drive choice. So you need both, and know how to use them. Putting your OS on the SSD is a smart idea, this will make is very snappy. Programs you use a lot will also benefit from SSD's speed advantage. The Hard Drive should be used for mass storage, like games which can be redownloaded if the Hard Drive crashes. Also on the hard drive you could record video to it, programs you don't use a lot, ect. Just be aware a HDD can fail at any time, I personally have 13TB worth of hard drives lying around for 4 years now and none of them have failed, but still. I think you get the point. You have to intelligently strike a balance between price, performance, and mass storage by using both. Fast things go on SSD, everything else on HDD. It may be a little confusing, but hard drives won't be around in a few years anyways. Now as for purchasing an SSD, I personally have an Intel 520 Series and Samsung 840 PRO I believe. They are both 128GB. (I have Windows 8.1 on one, and Windows 7 on the other). I would buy either a 128GB or a 240/256GB capacity by either Samsung or Intel. Samsung has a great, more aggressively priced series than the Pro series called the EVO series, you could look into that. And thanks for the comment! I did go out and buy that graphics card as an early Christmas gift and put it together and take some photos. :D
